Just outside your door you can enjoy a mecca of recreational opportunities during the summer from hiking, biking or rafting to name a few. During the winter months you can enjoy skiing, snowshoeing or dog sledding.

Awful Property and Bullying Response to request for refund

We had an awful experience with Meredith Lodging who runs Mount Bachelor Village. During their subsequent outrageous dismissive and threatening behavior along with their refusal to abide by their rental agreement - I have reported them to the Oregon Department of Justice and plan to sue them in Small Claims Court. And in their They provided a room that stunk, with no hot water and a lopsided bed. They told us they wouldn't charge us for a gym use, they then did charge us. They told us this was a mistake and they would refund the money and they never refunded it. Factors that indicate this unit was unsatisfactory were: - We were promised unit 421A which is pictured with different furnishings than unit 422A had. My wife spent a lot of time on the phone looking at pictures and selecting a unit - specifically 421A. That was not the room Meredith provided. Their rental agreement clearly says that if they don't provide the room selected the renter is ENTITLED to a refund. - Unit 422A was wholly unacceptable because: + The water was lukewarm at best - we were told it might be fixed by the plumber between 1 and 3 today. We don't know that that happened, but no hot water in cold weather is unacceptable. + The room had an odor that made my wife sick to her stomach. It was some type of cleaning solution that gave the unit a foul smell. + The bed was not fully on it's base and we did not sleep well the night we arrived. In the morning I was able to push it back on its base, but we didn't realize that was the problem until that morning. - In addition, we were promised complimentary gym utilization, but when we showed up, we were required to pay $30 for 2 of us for admission. We were told it would be refunded but it has not. I have email traffic from their representative that they consider not giving us a refund their "Definitive Decision." My response was that I would review, charge back and complain to the State or Oregon. They then said to look at the agreement about "Reveiw Extortion" - the word Extortion does not appear in the agreement. Although the entitlement to a refund for not getting the contracted unit does.

Unfair cancellation policy

I have stared here before during pandemic . Clean but unfriendly. I was looking for down time so friendly didn’t matter. Made new reservation. Had to cancel and did so 90 days in advance. They kept more than 50% of my deposit just on principle. They claim its 50% of my whole stay just not my deposit. They suggested I get travelers insurance when we could not reach an agreement on what my refund such be. I will definitely get travelers insurance if I decide to pay in advance to stay anywhere. However beware of Mt Batchelor Village. The are thieves and hide behind their policy. I would not wish my experience on anyone.

Beware if you have an event planned at Mount Bachelor Village Resort

Mount Bachelor Village Resort has closed their event center. My daughter's wedding was booked in 2021 for May of this year and I was informed less than 90 days before the event by email, only after I had called to ask some questions and was told someone would call me back. I am yet to speak to a real person. They have offered no real apology, compensation, or any empathy towards the stressful situation we are now in. I honestly don't know if or when they were planning on informing us (or our guests who had booked rooms) of the cancellation, or refunding our deposits. Probably on the day before the wedding, from reading other reviews! Also, there is no way online to cancel room reservations so each guest has had to personally call to cancel, as if this isn't inconvenient or embarrassing enough. One was even threatened with a cancellation fee. I am sure the resort is struggling financially with a lack of workers like most businesses are, but they way we were treated is appalling. Look elsewhere than Meredith Lodging for any type of retreat!

Did not get to actually stay there

Trip was set up, all planned out. Had called the condo several times for questions we had. Very polite staff. Kids were excited, bags were packed, dog was being driven to the kennel. We got a call the afternoon before we were supposed to check into the condo telling us that we could not come because the condo owner had decided to be quarantined in the condo. The lady that called us felt bad, said she had no openings of any sort and could do nothing for us other than refund our money. I stated that they had ruined our entire vacation, and there was nothing they could do for us? She said the whole situation would be forwarded to the upper office and we should hear from them. Never heard a word from anyone. Our money did get refunded. We had to give them 30 days notice to cancel for any reason buy they called the afternoon before and oh well. Would be very leary of booking here again if there is no guarantee that you will get the condo you rented.
