I booked a week-long stay here through Booking.com for my father, myself, my service dog, and my ESA cat. I cleared our animals in advance, assuring them we are very clean and responsible. Unfortunately, this was one of the most uncomfortable stays we’ve ever had. The Room: Do not stay in Cabin 9. It is only 8 feet wide and looks nothing like the photos online. I specifically chose this property because the listing showed nice recliners, which my father needs for back support. Instead, Cabin 9 had zero comfortable seating—just two hard bar chairs and a daybed with soft sleeping pillows for "back support." My father was so miserable that he spent most of the trip sitting in the car just to read in comfort. The Layout: The heating is completely uneven. My father froze in the bedroom because the only heat source there was in the bathroom, while I was sweltering in the main area.9 a freezing cabin with all the windows left wide open. We had to sit in the car while waiting for the furnace to make the unit livable. Throughout the week, the office was consistently empty. We had no idea where to take trash or get basic supplies like toilet paper. A note eventually directed us to "Cabin 6" for help, but no one was ever there either. The Resolution: When my father finally complained, management tried to blame Booking.com for the room assignment (which is false—hotels assign the specific units). They finally offered to move us two days before departure. The other cabin was night and day: two bedrooms and actual comfortable chairs. We ended up leaving a day early because we were so miserable. We left the place spotless, but it’s clear that if you show up with assistance animals, they may tuck you away in their worst, smallest unit. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
I was there just before Spring and it was very quiet. Just what I wanted for a place to be still, read, and photograph. Simple yet very nice cabin. the bed and bathroom was just great. Everything was provided for a complete kitchen. The porch overlooked the lake and it is a place I will return to again.
Wonderful place. Rustic resort and marina that is a breath of fresh air. We rented cabin 9, closest to the docks and lake. It is the smallest of the cabins and close quartered around the bed. We were told it was small and were offered an upgrade since we were the only people at the resort during our stay. We politely turned it down as we don't mind closeness. The cabin was clean, well stocked with kitchen utensils, and the view was really great from the front porch. We received a free pontoon boat rental while we were there and enjoyed a trip around the lake and some fishing. Being winter the fishing wasn't very productive but still fun. There are lots of water fowl to watch and the stars at night very beautiful. Being the only people there the place was very peaceful, there was very little road noise at all. There is a BBQ on the covered front deck of the cabin with pellets supplied so you can enjoy the days catch should you get lucky. The hostess was very friendly and answered all our questions. For a winter get away without dealing with the snow, this is the place to go.
The cabin was rustic buy very nice and clean. The view of the lake was beautiful. It was so peaceful, likely due to the time of the year. We did not see another person while we were there. It is close to town, the beach and restaurants. We will be back.
Mercer Lake Resort is the perfect family vacation! Beautiful days playing on their sandy beach, fishing from the dock, or renting a boat or jet ski. Nights of movies on the beach, kids dance party,“feed the beach”, or marshmallow roasts. Updated cabins and a safe place to let kids be kids. My family has visited every summer since 1970 and love the lake deeply, but the change in ownership a few years ago brought remodeled cabins and a family oriented atmosphere that I haven’t seen anywhere else!
