Winchester Bay was the worst area I've stayed at on the oregon coast. Beware, unless you like the non stop roar of atv traffic, revving racing up and down the road to and on the beach stay away from Winchester Bay. The county has given up on having a nice relaxing beach and beach town experience. From the docks to the ocean is all about racing the loud machines. 3 blocks off of 101 is the first rv campground out of 5. they actually have a lane that is for atvs that runs from the first park all the way to the dunes. We stayed at the winchester bay rv resort, nice place, except for the constant loud ATVs. we drive down to the beach and it was terrible, the noise was incessant. at the beach they are racing through the foredunes and even a few on the beach (i thought it was illegal). we went to the end of beach road which they call the staging area. it was like being at the pit area of a race track, which by the way what the oregon dunes have turned out to be. the nois continued till the wee hours of the morning with the noise makers coming back from the night riding. winchester bay is not the place to be unless you are a motorhead. why the oregon dunes national recreation area let this happen is sad. why anyone would actually live there is beyond me. there are lot of nice beach towns on the Oregon Coast, this however is not one of them. its easy to see why california shut down their dunes to atvs, they obviously care for their people that live there, where oregon dunes doesn't. Needed a quick overnight stop. Meticulously clean bath and laundry. All paved, super marina view, level paved lots great Marine facility patio, corn holes daily activities. Again all very clean. Special Thank you to the am cleaning lady, I busted my coffe cup , she kindly said no problem I'll take care of it.

Fantastic gem on the Oregon Coast
Was able to snag a spot end of June and before the 4th. Spots are clean well spaced out and entire resort is well run. Laundry I good and plenty of activities Spots look over the marina or bay . We will be back as should you

One of the best on the Oregon Coast
The park was easy to find. It is located on a spit of land just a short distance from highway 101. There is pavement all the way including the interior roads. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic and are policed. The interior roads are paved and in very good condition. Our site, 73 was a Concrete pull through that was plenty long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30/50 amp, water, sewer and cable) were to the left side. Distancing is fair for a rural park. There is small shrubbery that will become privacy barriers between sites. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was very neatly manicured and pleasant top look at. We did not use the park included wifi or cable TV. We did not find any OTA channels. Satellite will not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms, showers or laundry facilities but we checked and found them clean and modern. There is a shore side trail that runs the full length of the property. Be aware, it is for pedestrian travel only, No bicycles, scooters, skate boars or any other means of transportation. from the park There are a few restaurants within walking distance and just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be a very nice overnighter. I wish we could have stayed longer. We paid $47.00 per night and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again.

Beautiful RV park, excellently maintained
Hi all, This was our first time at Winchester RV Resort. We were very impressed. This is a large rv park. There were at least four camp hosts to help the campers and work on sites. Plus a myriad of workers for the cabins, lawns and facilities. The first thing we noticed was the park was clean. There were no overflowing trach cans, or litter in the park. We arrived after officer hours but a camp host came by and made sure were the right people and there were no problems. Our site, 150, was level and had a beautiful view of the marinas and Umpqua River. There were no issues with power and water hook-ups. The restrooms, showers and laundry rooms were also kept clean. The park is near the Oregon Sand Dunes and many people come with their ATVs but the park does not allow them to be driven in the RV park itself. So there is no roar of those engines. The marina nearby has many restaurants and bait shops, along with public docks for fishing and crabbing. The city of Reedsport is just a few minutes away with grocery stores and restaurants, etc. There are several large lakes nearby for fishing trout and bass. We enjoyed our stay very much and will be returning next year. The north end of the park has great views but is open to the wind. We had several days with high winds that shook our RV (30mph gusts). We used a Garmin GPS to get there and came in on US 101 from the north. When it was time to turn into Winchester Bay, the Garmin directed us to turn onto Broadway from US 101. This turn is almost a 180 degree turn! Take the regular turn onto Salmon Harbor drive just before Broadway. Save travels
