Whalers Rest is the Best!!! Bravo!!!
We stayed in a getaway cabin. It appeared recently renovated. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful and maid our stay one of the nicest we had since joining TT many years ago.

Disappointed
We have been coming to Whalers Rest for a long time and always really enjoyed our stay, especially an evening soak in the hot tub. Unfortunately, when we arrived were told the Pool & Hot Tub were down until April. I had checked online when I booked and again just before we left to see if the pool was closed with no mention the closure. I mentioned my discontent at check-in but after 2 days still no mention of the closure online. I am also astounded at the club house and pool hours listed on the door, 6PM for the pool and 7PM for the Clubhouse so when the pool does reopen, I doubt I will return due to the pool hours. It would be nice after a day of whale watching and a nice dinner to have a soak before bedtime but 6PM closing seems aimed at a different demographic.

Weekend Getaway (December)
My husband and I loved our weekend getaway to Thousand Trails Whalers Rest. We have a cabin pass and decided to use it over a rainy weekend. WI-FI was perfect in our cabin and everything was clean and tidy. We had everything we were needing even a puppy pack they had made up for our furry family member. We will definitely be back.

November in Oregon
Love the park, with the rain though it was very soggy lol. I was unprepared for the amount of water pooling in our particular spot this time. The construction is coming along nicely. New bathrooms should be ready this month. Would love to see some gravel in the low lying campsites.

Peaceful loaction with great access to attractions
We stayed in a cabin at Whalers Rest near Newport Oregon. The location was awesome to get to Newport attractions. The campground is well laid out and the cabins have everything you need for a comfortable stay to include a well sticked kitchenette. Staying off season was so peaceful and we still were able to hike on the beach and in nearby trails. Perfect couples get away (also good for families).
