We spent 2 nights in a motel room at this location. The room was clean and had some amenities we would not have expected for the low price. The grounds were well-kept. There were a few problems, but the managers were immediately responsive. I had trouble turning on the TV & the lady come to the room and showed me how to do it. It did have a unique quirk to it. Also the small refrigerator/freezer froze all our food. There was no adjustment knob inside - just a hole where it should be. We told the mangers that when we were checking out, and they were very apologetic and said they would work on that.
Old and noisy and needs updating
We stayed one night here with our 32-foot Class C RV. The setting was beautiful with fall colors and pine trees along the Metolius River. That was the best part of the stay. Our RV spot was not entirely flat and was in among others that looked full-time. There were alot of barking dogs throughout the day and night. The showers and rest rooms were in an A-frame that had a pretty low ceiling. I disn't like that there was no security in the building. Anyone with a key could walk in while you are taking a shower. There was mouse droppings all over the bathroom floor, and the room was dark and closed in. If we had been told when making the reservation that the Forest Service was doing a prescribed burn in the forest nearby, we wouldn't have bothered staying here. The only good thing about the stay was buying breakfast burritos at the store across the river from the "resort".
2016 Summer Visit
We stayed in our RV from July 8 - July 27. Great campground hosts. Nice accommodations. Quick trip to see all our friends at Smiling River everyday. Clean restrooms, great hook-ups. Very dog friendly. Highly recommend!
This was our third Memorial Day weekend stay at Hoodoo's Camp Sherman RV Park and Motel. This year we had a spot with full hookups which made it a very comfortable stay. A 5+ star rating goes out to the new assistant managers, Teresa and Kelly. They are so friendly and accommodating. For having only been on the job here for a little over a month, they have the running of the park well in hand. The owners are fortunate to have such out-going, knowledgeble and hard-working folks like Teresa and Kelly running the show. The restroom/shower house gets three stars. Every time we've stayed here there has been some kind of issue with toilets or showers. This weekend was no different. Although problems are quickly attended to, it is clear there is something about the bath house that needs updating. Also, converting the bath house, laundry and community room door locks to a push-button combination lock system would eliminate the need for handing out keys to guests. All in all, we really like Hoodoo's Camp Sherman RV and Motel and are looking forward to our next visit there.
Basic accomodations, very nice staff.
Contrary to the last review, just a week before this one, my experience at this motel has been quite positive. First of all, this is a motel and RV park. If you are expecting anything other than basics you will be disappointed. That being said, our room has been recently renovated, with a very comfortable king bed, a quiet mini-fridge, and a spacious room. The bathrooms are old and small, but everything works as it should. WiFi was not working, though it is usually available, but may not reach all the way to the rooms. We paid about $90 for the night, which may seem like a lot, but it is about 1/2 of what the other motels in the area want for their rooms. We have stayed here several times over the last ten years, and it's always been ok. The managers are very friendly and accommodating, making sure we would have no problems getting into our room despite us arriving rather late in the evening.
