I was shocked to discover how expensive hotels are in the La Pine area. Not sure why though. We ended up here looking for a more reasonable price and it seemed to be the cheapest available. The room we had, however, was very small. It was clean and reasonably comfortable. I found the AC unit very noisy and the traffic on the highway is non-stop through the night. The temperature really cooled at night so I would have been better to open the bathroom window for fresh air rather than running the AC non-stop. That might have helped with my sleep. In any event, there are good Mexican restaurants nearby and a gas station right on site which is very convenient.

Basic but complete. Coffee maker, micro in room. Clean rooms helpful staff great location. 1.5 hours from Crater Lake National Park.

Memorable stay in La Pine, OR.
Oct. 13, 2023. My girlfriend and I arrived in La Pine, OR at 10:30 pm and stayed at this cute little family-owned Motel. The owner accommodated us coming in so late and our stay was very comfortable. What made our stay memorable was watching the Annular Solar Eclipse the following morning right there in front of our room. Special thanks to the owner(s) for providing the special solar sunglasses.

We see it nice room, cleaning, breakfast place, everything is great. We will encourage friends or family tomstop by there . Worth it prices and location. Clean hotel . Alot things to do in la pine......

My cycling partner and I were returning very late from riding the Crater Lake Century and did not have reservations. The first place we contacted was full. Based on Trip Advisor reviews we contacted the folks at the Highlander. Boy, was it our lucky day. They had a room available and we booked it. However, even though we were not able to show up until after 9:00 pm they held the room without asking for our credit card to hold the room. Amazing. Check in was flawless and we had a very comfortable room. We had to be on the road super early the next morning and did not partake in their breakfast offerings. The nicest surprise came after I discovered that several hours after we left that I had left my iPad in the room. Brian contacted us and offered to mail it to me, which he did and it arrived a couple of days after we got home. We certainly appreciate their thoughtfulness and great customer service. I would stay there again if the opportunity ever presents itself.
