RESTAURANT--TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE TODAY
RESTAURANT--TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE TODAY This restaurant seemed very promising. Our server greeted us as soon as we sat down, off to a great start. My partner ordered the burger with no sauce and even told the server to make sure it had no sauce. Somehow he still received a burger that had sauce on it. We did not have time for a remake so I returned his uneaten food and asked for it to be taken off of the bill. Another individual, presumably the manager, came out and asked "what's the deal with the mayonnaise? You're the second person this week." She then told us she would absolutely not take his meal off of the bill, stating she was too small a business and was already "out the food" and she would make us something different at no charge. This made no sense to us as she would be out the food regardless in order to do a remake, and asked again for her to remove his meal from the bill. She then repeatedly called us unkind for insisting she take it off of the bill. We ended up paying the full amount even though my partner returned his uneaten food. The lake was great.

Worst resort I’ve ever been to!
We have been to Lake of the Woods several times so we thought we would try something different. We went to Fish Lake and stayed in a cabin for 3 nights. The place was filthy!! Wiped up some water on the kitchen floor and the paper towel I used was absolutely black! The dishes in the kitchen had to be washed before we could use them! The cafe’ looked filthy so we made our own food. The people who worked there were very unfriendly except Mike on the dock who was a gift!! I highly recommend you think twice before you venture to this resort. I have camped my entire life and, this place, by far, is the filthiest place I ever stayed and the staff was unfriendly (except Mike). You have been warned 🙀

Owner just wants your money!
First let’s start with how gorgeous this place is with a rustic feel loved that. Plus mostly the staff I spoke with were very friendly and pleasant. However, we purchased a cabin with twin beds and a small kitchenette it was very adorable, but right away the sink had issues. We checked in at 3pm and by 7pm we were going to have to wait until the next day for it to be fixed. The handyman there was super nice and really did his best so we said okay sure. Next day hours go by and we still don’t have a sink it’s basically useless. We have a discussion with the manager or person in charge who agrees to upgrade us to a different cabin. 4hrs later he says the owner said that something is wrong with that cabin and we can’t have it. I said well let’s go see, that was a no go! So the owner doesn’t care about your money you spend as long as they get it. We decided to get our money back and leave. If you don’t care about giving your money away and paying people who don’t care about your experience then go ahead and stay!

Good for day trip - but not overnight
Lake is beautiful, food and coffee were good despite getting some of our orders wrong. The cabin was adorable on the outside but dated and uncomfortable on the inside. Couch was a metal futon that needs to be put to rest it's so old. It was so low and hard to get up from we just resorted to sitting at the table. The bed was pushed up against the wall and the mattress was way too soft making it virtually impossible for the person sleeping against the wall to get out of the bed to use the bathroom overnight. The toilet in the bathroom ran ALL night. The small heater in the cabin, even on the lowest setting made it so hot in the tiny cabin that we couldn't get comfortable. We expressed this to management and were told to "open the windows" which we did but only 1 had a screen so we ended up with a lot of bugs coming in trying to get warm. We ended up closing the windows, turning off the heat and attempted to sleep in the cold, to the sound of the toilet. Minimal sleep at best. We expressed this to manage with no resolution, just a smile and "we will take a look at it" This was our 30th wedding anniversary which they knew from when we booked it. Not as special as we had hoped. Recommendation that owners update those cabins and take a course in service industry management.

Made a MISTAKE.
We made a MISTAKE, We wanted to go to Fishlake resort in Utah. It is only 2 hrs. away. The one in Oregon is 13 hrs away. Didn't know till we got to the Utah resort that we made the MISTAKE. The money hungry owners of Oregon Fishlake would not refund our money on a MISTAKE. Being a business they are able to write off an amount of loss on their taxes. Being retired and not making enough money, we don't have that option so we are out almost $400 of our retirement money because we made a MISTAKE and the money hungry owners have no feelings. All we can hope for is that carma will kick in. Thanks for nothing Fishlake Oregon.
