    Gone to heck

We just took a ride out to check this place out, again. Store closed, laundry room closed and judging from the looks of the trailers there, now an upscale homeless site. We would not feel safe staying there. It now looks like a dump and truly sad as in its glory days was beautiful.

    A Welcome Sight!

We got lost looking for Ada. We ended up wondering where we were and did not have enough cell coverage to know- we were. We were lost! Then we saw the sign for the Ada Fishing Resort and its "general store." We made a bee-line to it, and were greeted by the owner who was totally gracious and friendly. We gave us directions back to Florence, we bought plenty of the peanut butter crackers he had for our lunch and we were all the better for the surprising turn of events.

    Relaxtion and good fishing

In this Covid crazed world, this is the perfect place to unplug, unwind, and just plain RELAX. If you're looking for a spa treatment, five star restaurant, or other way to be pampered, this isn't it. However, if you just want to decompress in a serene camping atmosphere, welcome to Ada Fishing Resort. Sure, it's rustic, but we've all become a litttle too soft, especially lounging around while confined to our houses. This is an old time family style camping experince run by a husband and wife team who welcome you like long time friends. There are benches on the dock where you can stare wistfully across Siltcoos lake while listening to the sounds of crashing Ocean waves. Of course, this is a prime fishing location, with Largemouth Bass, Rainbow trout, perch, catfish, salmon and even sturgeon;many available right from the docks. There's a general store for the basics; shower, and washer facilities. An occasional train will lumber over the nearby tressle, evoking thoughts of Stand By Me. We tent camped for several days, and made quick friends. Relaxation, good fishing --just the getaway we were looking for.

Laid back, family friendly, lake getaway!

We tent camped along with a large family group weekend. The hosts are super sweet with many stories to tell, and ideas to enjoy your stay. Besides dock fishing there are canoes for exploring the lake. The railroad trestle and tunnel behind the resort are lots of fun for pictures and exploring. The special thing about this lake is virtually no bugs.. It seems at dusk that a slight breeze blows across the lake from the nearby Pacific ocean keeping the bugs away. No one in our family got bit during our two night stay. Be prepared to navigate a winding, sometime one-lane road a ways off of hwy 101. It was well worth the drive.

    Quiet and Wonderful

Such a great place to rent a cabin, pitch a tent, or park an RV. The service is excellent, the folks there so friendly and the resort sits on a beautiful spot right next to the lake. It is clean, serene and just plain wonderful.
