Loon Lake Water Sports & Marina

The fun abounds on the lake with rentals of canoes and kayaks, pontoon and house boats, ski boat, paddle boards and Sea Doos at the on-site Loon Lake Watersports and Marina. It’s a great place for activities from water skiing to a relaxing pontoon boat ride with accessory rentals such as wake boards and water skis. We also have a boat ramp for guests and day users.

Enjoy an “Escapation” where escape and vacation meet! Loon Lake is the only recreation lake in the Oregon Coast Range and it is surrounded by tall Douglas Firs and Cedars that protect from the coast winds. The Resort sits on one mile of Loon Lake frontage for your vacation in one of the cabins or cottages, many with full kitchens, a simple motel room, tent campsite or yurt. The RV Park offers full-hookups, satellite TV and Wi-Fi. The vacation rental, The Waterfront House, high on a hill overlooking the lake, sleeps up to 14.

Loon Lake Lodge opens on April 15th and takes reservations for Boat rentals and Lodging until October 15 for reservations through Oct 31st.

Really disappointing

Not as advertised. Flush toilet/shower are .5 mile away from yurt, and not walkable (main hwy, no shoulder). Was not expecting porta-potty to be main bathroom. No lake access or view, even though map looks like lake front. The trail from yurts and tent sites was overgrown, and not passable due to blackberry overgrowth along path. There is no place to hang out by marina if you have a dog, aside from a tiny patch of grass behind the snack shack. The majority of this area is sandy "beach", but no dogs allowed on sand. It's really just for RV's, and the only parking is a few spaces in front of the showers across the street. We drove 5 hours with a vision of renting kayaks and paddleboards, and hanging out as a family. Really disappointed. Left early.

Noisy cramped camp, Cabins need maintenance, Dusty RV park, Most of the staff were nice to us.

Cabin Ok, but price is high for what it is. You could see outside around the A/C unit, bathroom faucet was not secured to the sink, shower curtain was too short so we flooded the floor every morning. The picnic table was about 5 years late for paint. The RV Park was a mad house all day but settled down about 10 pm. Some guy with the loudest mufflers kept driving by stirring up dust - found out he worked there, finally got him stopped (evidently he was not on the maintenance crew). There is no pavement so you had better like dust. Good thing we left the boat at home because there is a big drop off at the boat ramp where the concrete needs fixed. Staff was nice and gave us extra towels to soak up the water after a shower. Vacationed in the again but DID NOT stay here. Found a nice short term rental with 2 bedrooms and a long enough shower curtain for about 40% less.

Photos of Loon Lake Lodge & RV Resort make the destination seem lovely. The lake is indeed pretty. Unfortunately, the RV sites are not. The RV campground is split into upper and lower areas. RVs were packed into the lower campground like sardines. The upper RV campground has more room and includes yurts and long, pull through sites. Unfortunately, they are dirt sites with minimal shade. The site we were assigned did not have a fire pit and there is no privacy between sites. The vibe was definitely more trailer park than resort. Both the upper & lower campgrounds were noisy. A group took up all available space at the small beach. We didn't see any staff monitoring the campground while we were there. Due to the lack of privacy between sites, we felt that we and our stuff were on display the whole time we were there. This was the only campground during an extended RV trip where we felt uncomfortable. We felt uncomfortable enough to bring everything inside each night rather than leave anything outside. The only positive for this resort was that the staff we did interact with were pleasant and check-in was quick.

Spent two nights at the resort with a lakefront site in our 34’ Class A motorhome. We enjoyed lake views, full hook-ups, paid internet access (Tengo), fishing from the dock. Wish boat rental had been available (not available until Memorial Weekend) but lovely spot. Limited hiking opportunities for dog walking. Would definitely return.

Please someone call the health department and plow under the lower RV park. No masks, no social distancing, trash bins full of garbage, filthy restrooms. No oversite, no one from the property overseeing the chaos the below their office. People are out of control, we stayed close to the RV because it wasn’t safe. Loud party at night, noisey dogs barking all the time, children without parents running everywhere without supervision, it was a nightmare. The site had broken, rotted table, garbage was never picked up. If you want a taste of the pandemic, please stay there.
