Wild Rivers Motorlodge offers spacious, clean rooms featuring microwave, refrigerator, hairdryer, coffeemaker, WIFI, HBO and expanded basic cable. Sevemteem rooms were renovated rooms in Fall of 2009 and 13 new ‘premium’ rooms were built in 2004. Pets are allowed in some rooms with fee. Rated #2 in Brookings on TripAdvisor. Three upstairs rooms have a distant ocean view. Located next to downtown, the property is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. New owners since September 2007.

We spent one night here in September. Everything was fine, really, but it’s absolutely unacceptable that several towels were dirty and that there were long black hairs in the bathroom.

Unfortunately, our room was not clean and appeared to have gone a long time without a thorough cleaning. Both bedspreads were dingy and dirty-looking. One bed had hair and visible dirt on the sheets that appeared to be from a previous guest. The freezer had old food frozen onto the inside wall, and the coffee pot was so dirty that I spent about 20 minutes cleaning it before we could use it. The bathroom was especially concerning. The floor was grimy, the caulking around the tub and walls was dirty, and the shower had black mold and missing grout. We did not feel comfortable using the shower. The bathroom door also would not stay closed unless it was forced into the frame. Elsewhere in the room, the ceiling fan/light was missing its glass shade and had only a bare bulb, the lamp shade was dusty, the baseboards had dark built-up grime, and the area behind the refrigerator looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time. This wasn't just a few overlooked details. The overall condition of the room made us question how thoroughly it had been cleaned between guests. Management really needs to address the housekeeping and maintenance issues.

Not dog friendly
Write below the great big sign that says dog friendly, you will find several signs that say no pets allowed anywhere on this property. The landscaping is so out of shape you couldn't walk in there if you had to, the weeds are 2 to 4 foot tall. Sure the staff is friendly but the rooms are old and run down and very disappointing. After paying a dog fee we found there was absolutely no place to walk our dog on this property.

Nice motel. Older but clean and quiet despite being right on the hwy. Coming back in the spring and will stay here again. Would definitely recommend.

A good choice for the nightwhile on a road trip
Wild River Motorlodge is right on Hwy 101; however, there was no problem with road noise. We did run the air conditioning so if there was noise it was masked by the air conditioner. The room was spacious and comfortable. The mini-refrigerator was a good size with ample space in a freezer compartment to hold all my ice packs. We parked right outside the room which made it convenient for unloading and loading. The front was very friendly and helpfu.
