Small older property that is well-maintained with a terrific staff
This is a throwback to the old, roadside motels from a generation ago. You can drive right up to your door. All the rooms and common areas have been renovated and are super clean and inviting. The room was large considering the age of the property and very adequate for our needs. The owner was on site and informative, helpful and super friendly. No, you don't have a lot of amenities but if you want a nice, clean room located on the main drag with very clean facilities, I highly recommend this motel.
Epic fail, total disaster, we left after ten minutes
Truly an epic fail, the owner blatantly lied. Easy to find, happy we had a full bed just like home but we were not prepared for the smell or the tiny size of the room. The fan over the bed turned on to try for fresh air sounded horrid. When I could not hang my clothes on the closet bar while my suitcase was on the stand, and my things would have to be on the floor, the only space to place them was in front of the baseboard heater, I had just had it. I found another fantastic place to stay with ease. We asked for our money back, and received only one night. I went back to ask the owner to reconsider refunding both nights because if the dog smell, he said dogs were never allowed in room 104. I proceeded to show him the photo I posted here, he lied again to my face. If paying our lawyer to get a $79 refund was worth it, I would. Avoid this place at all costs. P.S. it is for sale. Wonder why.
Outstanding motel near Samuel Boardman state park!
We loved room 103. Room included a refrigerator. Room was clean and beds were great. And unbeatable location near Samuel Boardman state park. This hotel is right near a gas station and just down the street from a grocery store. The clerk who checked us in was very polite. We were very happy with this motel. Only down side was that you could hear noisy cars go down the street, which was not the fault of the motel.
Typically we stay at chain hotels as hubby gets them free on points due to he travels for work. However, none are in the area. I had to blow up a map online to find a place. That was just crazy to me..haha Low and behold we found these guys. Knowing our travels would put us in a little late talking to the owners this was not going to be a problem. Ken was accommodating and we did not have to worry as we made it 20 mins before close! We opted for a premium room when we reserved as we are from Kansas and need air conditioning (humid and hot at home)! The room was great and service was too! Great place to stay.
A Darling Motel :)
This was a great place to stay. Sadly I was only passing through but I could see myself staying here again. The room was large enough for me to set up my pack n play for my son and there was still room to move about the space. The owner was very nice and I enjoyed chatting with him for a few minutes as we checked in. I was a little surprised to get a metal key for my room. The owner said that the humidity can cause problems for the card readers. The hotel is not far from the coast. It is right on Highway 101 which is also the town's main street. I went for a walk with my kids and could see the coast from where I was. I would definitely stay again. A darling little town with a darling motel.
