Enjoy waterfront views at Wheeler on the Bay. It’s the only motor lodge on Nehalem Bay with rooms right on the water and a private dock making the property a favorite of fishing visitors. Guests who stay more than one night can utilize the lodge’s kayaks to explore the bay.

Beautiful, Peaceful Location on the Bay!
Delightfully quiet location, great owners and comfortable accommodations! The Lodge is right at the edge of Nehalem Bay. Gorgeous, peaceful views. We were in the Otter Room, which had a little balcony overlooking the water, fridge, microwave, sink, and kitchen basics, shower, and queen and twin beds. When you check in you get a selection of breakfast items, and a snack. :-) There is also a huge DVD library. We loved the free kayaks, and had a sunset paddle. The town is tiny, but has a couple of good food options very short walk away. Martha and Gordon were really lovely, hospitable and caring! About 30 mins drive to Cannon Beach, and other scenic areas. Bit larger town Nehalem only 5 minute drive.

We already booked our next trip
I didn't know what to expect. Completely exceeded my/our expectations. Clean, comfy, attention to details, kept being surprised with more the Lodge had to offer. The owners are extremely sweet. The picnic basket breakfast was so cute (it even included a drink, something sweet and something to snack on as well for the evening or daytime). We were able to dock our boat at their private dock and utilize their cleaning station. I hesitate to write a review because I don't want "my room" taken for our next future trips ;) Also, enjoyed sitting in their nice bay front seating and watching all the wildlife and of course people watch. Our Grand babies enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and other wildlife as we sat observing nature. This lodge has really thought of everything. Thank you Martha and Gordon We will see you next time.

Clean & Comfy
We were invited to the Oregon coast to rendezvous with family traveling from the midwest. I wasn't sure we'd find a room for one night at the last minute on a 3-day weekend, but we were SO fortunate to find this property on-line! The location was perfect for our visit, the room squeaky clean with many (many) wonderful details, and the beds very comfortable. The Garden Room's small deck was a great place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening and coffee in the morning. It would be "cozy" if the neighbors had decided to use their decks at the same time, but there is also a lovely area near the docks to sit and enjoy the view. When we're back in the area, I will definitely try to book this property again!

Nice Attention to Details
When you see the little extras that Wheeler on the Bay adds to your room, you feel they put extra thought into your stay to be sure you felt welcomed. We had a pleasant, comfortable, and quiet stay here and were glad to find a nice place in this area of the Oregon coast. Check in was pleasant and thorough. The notebook in the room covers probably any question you may have. If you are traveling the Oregon coast, you can feel comfortable in making this your choice of lodging.

Great Gem of a Hotel!
This hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations. I chose this hotel based on cost and proximity to my dad’s house, but was so surprised by how nice it turned out to be. The bed and the linens are fabulous The toiletries are so nice. All the little touches made this hotel very welcoming. When I arrived I forgot to turn the heater on and the temperature was in the 30s. I had to pick my husband up from the airport in Portland and came back later around 10pm to a very cold room and we couldn’t get the fireplace on. The owners came back and helped us out. He left a new portable heater to help heat the room up faster in addition to the room heat. They called me the next day to make sure everything was okay and made sure my room was kept warm. So great! I would definitely stay there again.
