Very run down and people live there.
Our room had two queen beds, one nightstand with no bedside lighting. There was a round metal (patio type) table and two old chairs. The nightstand drawer was very hard to open. All the furniture was scratched up and scruffy. They tried to make it look better by gluing laminate flooring to the tops of the nightstand and dresser. The tv was very tiny. It did have a fridge and microwave. There was no tub but a shower with a folding shower chair built in. There were only two hangers and no tissues. They used old fashioned keys. People would stand around smoking right outside the door. It was obvious that people were living there, not just spending the night.

We will not be returning
According to my wife, giving 2 stars is being generous. The hotel is in a nice location and when we checked in the staff were friendly, but unfortunately that’s about as far as the positive experiences go. The room itself was decent sized, but in state of disrepair. Items around the room, such as the dresser, were broken with large chunks missing. The bathroom door trim looked like it had been patched and painted numerous times. The bed “frames” were merely plywood, making the entire bed very hard and uncomfortable. And the bedding, just nasty. The sheets had several stains on them which make me question how well or frequent they are actually washed. The amount of signage warning of additional charges was a bit overwhelming. It made us feel like we would be charge for any minor inconvenience the staff experience after we left. The noise, ugh. Everything was audible. We could hear cars passing in the street like we had a window open. People walking normal outside was like a hammer hitting with each step. I’m not sure what was happening in the room above us either, but sounded like a dance party all night long. It is an older hotel so I can understand not being perfect, but there were just too many issues for us to have enjoyed the stay.

Mostly ok
There are drapes on either side of the window which look out into the parking lot. They can neither be pulled closed nor opened further, as they are just ornamental. To close visual access to the room from the outside, we used the pull-down shade screen; it was a little creepy. The lights in the room are strange and poorly designed / wired. There was no night stand light, only a light on the same wall as the bed that was wired to the switch -- which was just inside the door on the wall, far across the room from the bed. So to turn off the light in the room to go to bed, you get to go to the door, and turn it off at the switch just inside the door. The other light - also an LED that was in the ceiling - would often work, and also often not. 2 smaller pillows on the bed; I usually sleep with 4, but OK, I'm not at home. The bed was comfortable. Over towards the wash basin there is a nice sized fridge and a microwave. There is more water pressure in the sink than in the shower. We tried to shower together, but that was impossible; too little water flow. There seemed to be a eco water saver device on the water supply line; what a great way to under deliver water and make the guest irritated. The decor was early thrift store. There was a former hotel that was razed several years before (Mar Clair Inn), and it looked as though perhaps the dresser and night table may have been salvaged from there, with perhaps a new plastic top put on and then routered and painted. The floor was some kind of faux wood plank, maybe LVP. It may have been swept, but it certainly was never mopped, and definitely not clean. After removing my shoes and socks, and using the bathroom, and getting a beverage from the fridge, my feet were black. In the morning, I put the hand towel under one foot and bathmat under my other foot and walked to my bag on the couch and back to get dressed. The towels were very dirty from the dirty floor (pics). A tiny (24") tv is mounted on the wall, along with the satellite or cable box, too. No effort to tie the cables together; they just sort of droop and show. A larger tv and mounting it lower would have covered both the cable connection and power source, but it is on the Oregon coast / bay, in a less economically vibrant community.

Fine, high value place to stay
This is a fine, inexpensive hotel. I had a scheduling problem, and they were fantastic in helping to resolve it. Reception was pleasant and check-in easy. The room was clean, well maintained, and sufficiently quiet. We had a double room that was perfect - essentially two rooms with a shared bathroom. The rooms use real keys, so don’t forget to drop them off when checking out. I will definitely stay here again when I’m next in Tillamook. I highly recommend it as a place to sleep when visiting the area, especially for fishermen.

Ugly and false advertising
I booked this room on Hotels.com and the pictures looked good. Once we got to the room though, it did not match the pictures. It was ugly and plain, and repairs done to trim and doors was messy. I went back to the front desk and showed her the pics of what was advertised, and she and another co-worker said "Oh, that's Mohammed's suite upstairs!" (Apparently Mohammed is the owner) They also had a photo cube on the main desk with photos rotating on it of the same suite! They both said "we need to tell him to take these photos off the websites and the picture cube!" We couldn't wait to get out of there.
