Great view, dirty pool
What a nice little place. Great view, nice updated rooms although the beds were harder than I'm comfortable on, beautiful view, and very easy beach access. The hot tub temp was perfect, and the pool was warm enough not to shock you getting in it directly from the hot tub....BUT.. the pool was VERY DIRTY. I thought maybe it was just stained until I got in it, the dirt ring around the tile at the water line could be easily wiped off. That pool needed a good scrubbing.

Don't go!
Worst place to stay. Shabby very old furniture, The king bed was hard., A very tiny shower, toilet area, no dresser, despite being one shown on website. The balcony was tiny, no elevator to haul up to the third floor. The water pressure was like a 3 alarm fire hose. Only good thing was the location.

A Wonderful Place
Excellent beachfront hotel. The view from every room is spectacular. Beach access is easy. The staff is friendly and helpful. Everything works and the rooms are clean. We've visited many times over the last ten years and it never disappoints. What more could you want?

On the beach
This motel is older, modest & no frills. But it was clean, very comfortable beds, small kitchenette with refrigerator, dishware, microwave & coffee pot with coffee, and a nice working fireplace. When they said on the beach, they weren't joking! Every room has a balcony 9 steps from the sand. Throughly enjoyed sitting on our deck and listening to the waves. Not walkable to restaurants, but a short 5 - 10 minute drive. Please note, there is no elevator and 3 stories. Request 1 st floor if you have any mobility issues. Also, there is no A/C .. at first it worried us, but just leaving the slider open at night, cooled it right off. Parking is somewhat limited, but overflow is just across the street. Easy! We will return. Good review especially because of beach location!

A visit to my childhood
Growing up in the 60's & 70's my family stayed at the Nelscott motel a couple times. Flash forward to last weekend my wife and I stayed at the Sandcastle. We had a great getaway , rockhounding the beach and eating amazing meals up and down the coast. Our king fireplace room was clean and met our needs. The parking lot is tight so finding room for our Ram pickup was a fun challenge ,but do-able.
