Dont do it
Hello everyone who reads this. My Fiance and I stayed at the Palace Inn & Suites in Lincoln City Oregon from October 1st through October 4th. Our drive was 7.5 hrs. Reason for stay was for Surf. (bass competition). I will warn you this review is lengthy. End result in my opinion DO NOT stay there. Continuing on....
Hotel looks okay, the grounds are maintained.
So we show up at the hotel, the front desk clerk was very rude, short and snippy with us. Added on another $200.00 for what he claimed to be a deposit because I paid 2/3 with a debit and the other 1/3 with cash. I had plenty of money on my debit card without the added $200.00 that was sprung on us when we arrived. Whatever the guy said we would get it back. I booked the room a month before traveling for $551.00 everything included. I have all receipts. That's a little expensive for us but we have been saving for 6 months just to go to Surf. Paid for room for 3 nights. (big hassle). It was a jacuzzi "suite". Lobby looked clean. Headed to the room expecting a nice clean room one would expect to get after paying $721.00 for 3 nights. Now if I would have known what I know now, I would have put a mattress in the back of the truck and slept in a random parking lot. The light above the elevator was busted as was every light on the other floors.
First thing as we walk into the room(non smoking). It smelled like dog poo, old cigarette and rotten cow tongue. Its was not pleasant. First thing I noticed was under the makeup table was some trash. Took a couple steps Fiance notices that all the fire suppressors in the ceiling are hanging down. Pretty sure that's a no-no. We set our things down. He walks over to the A/C window and opens drapes. I walk over to the fireplace which looks as though its electric and natural gas. But only runs electric. Little dangerous. I then bent over and looked under the bedside table closest to window and there was trash again. So me being a housekeeper for a very prestigious company needs to see what's going on.
We pull every piece of furniture away from the walls and have a look see at what I can describe as "the room has not been cleaned in a year maybe 9 months". There was, actually probably still is trash, food, beer caps, old rose peddles, hair ties, zipper parts, animal and human hair galore to name a few under the furniture. Couldn't move bed because I was afraid it would fall apart. But oh yes I did check between the mattresses. There was a remote, animal hair and the skirt that goes around bed, was wadded up between the mattresses. We would have never known it had a maroon skirt if the room had been cleaned. On to the fridge/microwave area. The fridge was dirty and frosted over. As was the freezer. Plus the combo had some human and pet hair and other particles inside. I proceeded by pulling out fridge from wal. The top has not been wiped down in never and there were a few fruit loops and other objects under it. Then microwave....the turn table was dirty so I removed to clean it and there was hair, dirt, and food in microwave. Yum. I slide microwave over to find more food, dirt, dust, hair tie. I headed to bathroom where I found the inside of toilet was clean. The outside however was not. Pubic hair and urine marks. Floor has not been cleaned nor swept in many moons. Food, hair, dirt, toilet paper parts all over. The mirror wasnt cleaned. Our ice bucket was dirty along with its lid which was covered in some pink goo stuff???. The hair dryer was dirty with black hand prints. The tub wasn't to bad guessing because there was a jacuzzi and tub is rarely used. The shower curtain rod was hanging on for dear life to the wall. The toilet paper covers were half ripped off and hanging from actual paper. The tact strips, bathroom and jacuzzi were very poky and sharp we had to lay down towels(extra towels we were denied upon check in) over transitions so we wouldn't be stabbed if we god forbid walked on the floor. A little side note...If I would have left my job looking like this room looked I would have been fired on the spot and blackballed for life. On to the next.....the main door trim had dark finger prints on its face. The floor throughout had not been vacuumed. The wall behind makeup table was the worst. Black red brown clear stuff was all over the wall and the table. Along with wall behind microwave and corner by jacuzzi. Underneath of round table had dont know what all over it. The blindes were dirty. The top comforter was dirty with particles of something and pubic hair. Flip back comforter the sheet had some kind of skid marks and more pubic hair, dirt, and lent. One pillow had black marks all over it which were easily wiped off. The headboard has never seen a wet cloth or a duster in its life. The mirror for makeup table was not cleaned. The jacuzzi was the cleanest shockingly. Although it was plugged so we unplugged it...there was a condom and possibly a sex toy that had been broken. All towels smelled clean except one hand towel which automatically went on the floor for tack strip. The ceiling above jacuzzi had a leak at some point and was never fixed up. Bedside wall and table had whatever it was all over it. Every drawer had hair, food, dust, dirt, pieces of paper in them. The bedside lamps were stuck to the glass table tops with rings of gunk included after I moved lamps.
I have many pictures with date and time they were taken(the moment we walked in) along with some audio recordings of the clerk being very unprofessional and rude. I did show him pictures and he wanted nothing to do with them. So I kept pushing them on him. I was very polite and professional while I was explanining to him what was wrong with our stay. I was advised by my boss back home not to complain until checkout for the fact that everything was booked up because of Surf and that he would most likely kick us out. She was right. He didn't like me knowing it has never been cleaned and said that I would have been moving on as soon as I complained without my large deposit in hand. Have that on recording to. He had also told me that me having a complaint was not accepted. I could go on for days. He refunded us $100.00. Still waiting for it to hit bank.
In the hallways, every fire suppression apparatus was hanging out of ceiling just like in our room.
We both witnessed what looked like drug deals outside our room in the back of building next to the homeless camp(trees) go down. Personally if I want to see that stuff I would stay in my own town. But its everywhere. It is what it is.
The dive that we stayed in was horrible. I do not work extra hours at my job to be presented with a landfill with free diaper dump Tuesdays. I advise everyone to not waste their time nor your hard earned money on this place.
