I would give this inn a 4.5 .. our specific room booked via Airbnb was as the photos appeared. Every room is independently owned and furnished and some are better than others. The photos should match the room. The front desk was great and it was easy check in. We arrived late at night but the parking areas were well lit although they are gravel so are the immediate paths to the rooms so note that roller bags will be awkward. Once you get to the buildings where the room are its concrete so much easier. No elevators so you may have to carry to bag upstairs. They have help during daytime hours. We were fine with our luggage. The room we had had a lovely ocean view and was clean and modestly furnished. Read- not lavish or resort ish but better than a holiday inn or equal to one. Clean and comfortable and priced accordingly. They have a pool laundry room and workout room and we don’t use as we wanted to see the area. Great location and close (10 minutes) to good food and sights. We would stay there again. Also it’s a beautiful property with trails all over .

Dirty, filthy, broken, old, tired, expensive. So bad that we booked alternative accommodations and left at 10 pm. While the front desk was very friendly and refunded our stay, we had booked two rooms; one for our friends. We were horribly embarrassed by the experience. From the plastic flowers to the mismatched good-will furniture, to the mattress that a flood victim wouldn't want to sleep on....- there is clearly no standard for the rooms which are individually owned. The sad thing about this is that I was a returning customer. I was horrified and the state of decline of the property. Just a shame and because we had to book alternative arrangements the night of, we paid heavily for it. I am attaching a review my husband found after we returned. I failed to check the reviews because I was a returning customer;lesson learned. The Exact same room... Room 119 three years later and NOTHING had been done. I did reach out to the property when we returned home to further describe our disappointment. The video I took would not load as it was to large of a file but you get the point. If you are interested in staying here for the view, remember, you do not sleep outside. I recommend the Elizabeth Inn at Nye beach instead. They welcomed us after this traumatic experience.

Since each room is individually owned you never know if your room will be dated or renovated. Ours was clean but very dated with an adjoining door that made every utterance of the people next door very audible in our room. The bed was a nice king, very comfortable.

A Terrible Experience
We rented two rooms, one for us and one for our guests. Our room was so filthy and disgusting that we checked out and moved nine miles south to a terrific location. The carpet and table were both very dirty. The furnishings were old and appeared to be from a second-hand store. The couch was musty, stained, and with beat-up cushions, and the ceiling had painter's tape in multiple areas, but no fresh paint was visible. The walls were paper-thin; we could hear every word spoken next door. What makes this even worse than the room’s condition is the management’s lack of care for the property; we had the same room that Karol64 rented over 3 years ago (please note that review, also on Tripadvisor). Shame on the property owner for doing absolutely nothing that hints pride in ownership, and shame on the management team for allowing this dump to be in the rental pool. Doing nothing in 3+ years to improve this room after Karol64’s review is exactly why you should pass on The Inn at Otter Crest. Mark R.

This property is comprised of condos that are individually owned, so each is furnished and updated differently. I booked an ocean view room for 2 nights, and was booked into room Q320. Our balcony directly faced the forest, looking over rooftops of adjoining buildings. IF you craned your neck as you leaned over the railing, THEN you had an ocean view. In addition, the room itself was quite downtrodden - baseboards were filthy and in desperate need of paint. All pictures and knick knacks on the walls looked like Dollar Tree specials, and the throw pillows on the sofa were just plain gross. When we complained to the front desk, they offered to switch rooms for us the NEXT day AFTER 3pm. Really? Front desk person had zero personality. Even when we went down to grab a microwave-able something for dinner, she failed to let us know that there were absolutely no eating utensils in the room - not a dish, tableware, glass, nothing. And although we received the exact same email for 4 days prior to our arrival letting us know that the fireplaces were temporarily unavailable, it would have been nice to know that the restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay. The only positive thing I can say is the grounds were very pretty. Would I stay there again? Highly doubtful unless I saw photos of the specific unit I would be staying in.
