Very disappointed
We were so disappointed in this hotel. Our room was just - a room. Nothing special or fancy about it at all. One would think with the price we paid that it would have been more than just "a room". Getting off the elevator we were greeted with a beautiful marble and iron table and right next to it was a tall garbage can. Really? The hallway was dark and very eerie feeling. Our room was very clean so 5 stars for that; however the wallpaper in the bathroom was coming off the wall. The door was filthy and it looked like someone had tried to force the door open because there was missing wood by the handle. The restaurant was not open for business. I wasn't aware of that until after it was too late to cancel our reservation. Definitely would not stay here again or recommend to others.

Grand experience
The location is fantastic. It's attached to the convention center, right in downtown. Short walk to Riverfront Park, Minto Brown Island. Lots of nearby shops, restaurants, etc. The front desk staff is great. I never had to wait in line to talk to someone. The lobby is spacious. The hotel room is a bit dark but there are lots of lamps if needed. We had a suite, which was arranged nicely so the living space and sleeping space were reasonably separated. There is an indoor pool and gym. The breakfast buffet has lots of cold and hot items. One day there was a waffle maker, and another there was a pancake printing machine! The pancakes were especially fun, but I reviewed my previous review of the hotel in 2015, and they had it back then too. Great stay!

Great service and convenient stay
This place is conveniently located very close to shopping and many places to eat, so clearly this is the place you need to stay if in town. You're just a quick walk from the park too and you can quickly take a 20-30 minute ride to natural greatness like walks in the state parks. Rooms are priced decently, the facility is well maintained, and the customer service is amazing! The restaurant is not open right now, but again, you can go into town to get great food. I will say that the hotel is a quaint hotel, so that normally means you're going to hear neighbors in the next room, hallway and upstairs. I heard the neighbors upstairs making a lot of noise, so if you're a light sleeper, that's going to be an issue. Some of my party didn't like the closet that had the AC locked in it, because it can make whitenoise that they didn't like. I helped me sleep, actually. There are no safes in the room, so you should know you should bring a lock to lock valuables up in your luggage.

Best Stay in Salem!
We were greeted by kind and helpful folks, the room and hotel are lovely and clean! The entrance is inviting, grand, and offers sociable opportunities. Bridgette and Alan were generous with their time, assistance, and very kind. Great places to eat nearby!
