Family Friendly Motel
We had a great stay at Surfside Oceanfront Resort and would definitely come back with our family.
We stayed in one of the ocean-view suites with two beds, a separate bedroom, and a full kitchen. The room is definitely dated, but it was very clean, and you can tell they’re working on updating the property since the buildings are currently being remodeled.
The full kitchen was a huge plus. It had an oven, stove, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and was stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils, making it easy to prepare meals during our stay.
The gentleman who checked us in was incredibly welcoming and friendly. He took the time to recommend places to buy groceries and was genuinely pleasant to talk to, which made us feel right at home. Later during our stay, we called the front desk to request a few extra items for our room. We were told someone would bring them over, but they never arrived, so we ended up asking a housekeeper we saw nearby for assistance.
The heated pool was clean and well maintained, and we appreciated the outdoor seating area with fire pits for guests. The resort also has private beach access. There are a few stairs leading down to the beach, but they aren’t too difficult, and being able to sit in our room, look out at the ocean, and fall asleep to the sound of the waves was one of the highlights of our trip.
A couple of things to keep in mind: there is no elevator, and even many of the first-floor rooms require climbing some stairs. If you have mobility challenges, I believe only a few ADA-accessible rooms have ramp access, so it’s worth checking with the hotel before booking. Also, the walls are somewhat thin, so you can hear noise from neighboring rooms at times.
Overall, this is a clean, family-friendly motel in a fantastic beachfront location. While it isn’t the newest property, the spacious rooms, full kitchens, friendly staff, heated pool, and beautiful ocean views more than made up for it. My only real wish is that there was an elevator! We’d happily stay here again.
