So I've been to Gold Beach Oregon many times. Normally I stay at Ireland's Rustic lodges but their prices for their rustic cabins have gone up quite a bit in the last year. Being a Diamond BW member I thought I'd try this property. Overall it's fine with the following exceptions: 1) if you book the top tier rooms which are on the 3rd floor.....be advised, the "ocean view" is blocked by the wood balcony fences for lack of a better word........if you sit down in the plastic adirondac chairs provided, you have to look between the slats to see the ocean or stand up. (And I'm 6ft tall). The other thing is, if you have difficulty with stairs, the stairs down to the trail to the beach are not for you. Ireland's for instance, has a sloping path down to their grassy area and the beach. The hotel overall is fine, nice rooms, good breakfast, but next trip to Gold Beach, I'll return to Ireland's Rustic Lodges.

Only reason I would give this a star is because it has a balcony with a distant view of the ocean and a walking path to the beach. I haven’t stayed in a lot of hotels in years. We chose hotels over Airbnb because it was an extended unplanned road trip. Best Western name used to be reliable. This room was out dated in appearance and smelled terribly musty. The bathroom didn’t look clean and the toilet seat should have been replaced! Throw pillows for bed pillows. Could hear the guests above us moving around. Expect more for $299 plus taxes for one night stay. We will stick to Holiday Inn Express. 3 out 3 experiences on this trip were 5 star rating.

Comfortable stay
We stayed here prior to and after our Jet Boat excusion. All the hotels in Gold Beach are old and tired as was this one. There is no elevator, so be prepared to drag your luggage up 2 flights if you are on the third floor. Room was clean and comfortable, we were missing towels and tissues which housekeeping brought up quickly. Also free breakfast in the lobby was average but hit the spot.

Great place we enjoyed staying here. Next time we will get the 3rd floor. Little noisy with heavy footed people. Great views walk to the beach.

Hotel was ok, nice ocean breeze with a sliver of an ocean view. Room smelled a bit musty. We arrived at 730 pm, were sent to our room to find it wide open and partway cleaned. 45 minutes of delays and misinformation later we finally got into the room. A snafu is understandable, but instead of an apology the staff gave us lies and excuses. On checkout I asked to speak to a manager, was told to call back and maybe they would be in.
