I recently wrote a review of our house rental from Sunriver Lodging. We spent six nights without a kitchen refrigerator and were a party of 10 people. We had to insist on a meeting with managers to discuss compensation and, while admitting is was a "major inconvenience," they offered only $500 off our nearly $8000 bill. My review is listed below. After posting the review, Wendy Collins, Director of Rooms at Sunriver Lodging, issued a response on Trip Advisor. empathizing with the impact on our trip. She asked me to "reach out as soon as possible so we may speak further." After leaving two phone message over the past two weeks, I have heard nothing from her. It appears she wanted to convey to the public the impression she was concerned about our experience but her silence discloses that the impression was her sole concern. The only thing worse than the treatment we received during our stay at Sunriver was the response to my review asking for a discussion she had no intention of having.

The staff steals
The stay was fine. They never cleaned our room while we were there which was weird. I was ok with that. What I’m not ok with it stealing possessions. We had a dinner one night with dancing and I set my prescription sunglasses on a table. The very next morning I went looking for them. The people acted like it was no big deal that the sunglasses never made it to lost and found. Why on earth would you steal prescription sunglasses? I called several times. The customer service was lacking. They basically told me they are lost. If I called a week later, I’d understand. I hadn’t even left campus and went looking for them. It’s funny it’s ok to steal from your guests. Whatever you do watch your stuff while you stay there!!

What Sunriver Lodging promises is not what it provides
We rented a five bedroom/five bath home through Sunriver Resort/Lodging for six nights. It was a family reunion with three couples and four older boys. Upon arrival our kitchen refrigerator failed to work. We called for repairs since many in our group had brought food or stopped on the way to Sunriver to purchase food. To cut to the chase, we were without a kitchen refrigerator for our entire stay. There was a small over flow refrigerator in the garage intended to store items the large kitchen refrigerator could not handle. But the given the size of our party, it could never handle 10 people. We were left storing food in coolers and stocking them with ice. Needless to say, our stay was impacted by unpacking each time we wished to eat. When I sought compensation from Sunriver Lodging, they promised to notify us of the amount during our stay but they never did. I had to demand a meeting with the manager the day before our departure to discuss compensation. The offer was $500 off our $8000 bill. They claim to be a first rate resort offering “ideal” accommodations. The treatment we received speaks otherwise.

This was our first time at Sunriver and Daniel at the front desk was so welcoming and started our vacation off in the best way possible. He was so accommodating and It truly was the best customer service we have ever experienced at a hotel. Thank you Daniel for putting us in an amazing room and for all of your assistance. Everyone else was wonderful too and our room was exceptional. We will definitely be coming back!

Amazing Customer Service
Daniel was a lot of help! He made checking in so easy and a nice experience that left everyone feeling amazing afterwards. His customer service was truly top tier, and was part of why our experience at Sun River was so enjoyable!
