We chose the Riverside Inn as an alternative to a freeway hotel in Grants Pass. Grants Pass can be perceived as a gateway, or as a pass through. We have done both here, but this trip was a pass through. The short version in this review is that we were so impressed with the clean, well appointed rooms, the friendy well trained staff, the lovely room views, and the nice breakfast we booked another room for our return trip a week away. The longer detail: The staff needs a real shout-out. They are either naturally friendly all around and have a great hiring manager or they are really well trained and have a great development/team building management. We also stayed at the Culver hotel, LA, the red lion in Olympia, Wa. The Days Inn woodland, CA, the Washington Square Inn in San Francisco, and the Miyako in LA. The Miyako in LA is the only place that could stand up to the gracious friendly service and staff at Riverside Inn. The rooms are very clean. The breakfast is good quality - eggs, sausage or bacon, cereal, fruits, yogurt, gravy and biscuits, waffles. There is always a staff person circulating the room, clearing and clean tables, refreshing food. The plates and bowls are ceramic, and the utensils were metal. The staff cleared your table...no bus bins. This was really contentious service. Overall a quality establishment at a great value. We will make it our go-to stay in Southern Oregon, and will even alter our driving plans to stay there instead of other places we have been on the I5 corridor (Ashland, Medford, Roseburg - even Redding)
The Riverside Inn is one of best maintained hotels Ive been to in America. At 110 USD you cant go wrong. They do a breakfast that included bacon and sausage. The bed, pillows and sheets were wonderful and I need to find an excuse to return to Grants Pass.
Spent two nights here. The location is superb right alongside the Rogue River. Restaurants and shopping nearby. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rates are reasonable. The room was comfortable and very clean. Would have appreciated additional electrical outlets as well as more lights. Ask for a room with porch facing the river. Breakfast was okay. Enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.
The night clerk Shy sent us 3 times to the wrong room number/wrong key. When my spouse went to get it corrected - 3 different times - Shy used phrases about “you people” being picky and literally was rude about “being sassy” after we told them their mistake when the person staying in the room number we were sent to answered the door to tell us we had the wrong room.
We have now stayed here a number of times over the past few years and have always been greeted by friendly staff and our room ready. The rooms are comfortable with great views of the river. Very comfortable bed and linens. Also appreciate the small deck off the room that overlooks the river.
