Expected a cleaner room with a working firepit.
Based on all these positive reviews, I realize that my stay is an outlier. Upon check into our room, we noticed dog hair on the comfort, dog feces on the patio. And 3 of our pillowcases were dirty (make up , food) and there was dirt and hair in the tub. We paid for a room with the fire pit, and the fire pit was not working that when we checked in. That was the one amenity we were looking forward to. There weren’t any other rooms available so we stayed the night in that unit and we moved the next day. that room was much Cleaner and we had a better experience. we were told we would receive some type of compensation or credit because the fire pit wasn’t working the first day, but that never materialized. The Restaurant and lounge are lovely and we had great experiences there. Again, I know my experience is not the norm but after paying over $450 per night I expected better and would not recommend.

Family Trip - 4 adults
The queen bunk bed room was fantastic (4 adults - queen bed w/ xl twin on top). Comfy beds and linen on all the beds. The metal ladders up to the bunk beds were easy and sturdy just be mindful about having socks on when going up and down. Great views of the property from our balcony (close to the pool). Only a short walk to the front for delicious coffee and was able to take a nice walk around the property, ending at the Deschutes River. Extremely close to downtown - a 10 min drive.

Not worth the price!
Avoid this place. The Lodge is "Pet Friendly" which means when you enter your room it might smell like a musty Dog Kennel (Ours did). TV and phone didn't work for 2 days. The bathroom floor was dirty and the carpet had dog hair on it. The room looked old and worn out. The best part was the gas firepit outside which overlooked the river. When we booked the room we requested to have a Microwave placed in the room. We were told "Sure, we'll put you on the list" or something that lead us to believe we would get a Microwave. When we got to our room there was no microwave. We called the front desk and were told individual rooms don't have microwaves and we could use the community microwave located in the next building. So they mislead us about being able to have one in our room during booking. Questionable charges! When we booked the room several months ago, we paid a deposit for the first night's stay. The remaining balance PLUS a $50 per day "Incidental Fee" was billed the day we checked in. No problem right? The "Incidentals" would be credited back when we checked out, right? The night before we checked-out our Credit Card was charged an additional $1100 plus. The following day during check out the front desk tried to act like it was totally normal (I think she called the charge a "Place Holder" or "Funds confirmation" or some BS). When we pointed out, we had already been billed for the full amount 5 days earlier, plus the incidental fees, she said something to the effect of "Those funds ($1100) will not be charged to your card" even though the Bank shows the $1100 charge as pending. When asked why the charge was there since we already paid in full the day we checked in, she talked in circles and could not provide a reasonable explanation. There is also a $10.00/day + tax parking charge!

I’m Obsessed
Literally booked this hotel day off (we were driving CA -> WA and decided we wanted to add another stop. Maybe my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed in (I am not one to splurge on a hotel) It has everything you could ever want - a river walking path, pools, restaurant (with cheesecake !) and more I’m sure.

Probably best for families
Beware the parking fee if you book on Expedia: $10/day, which did not show up in the total fee when booked (also as a $50/day incidentals fee which showed up as a pending charge when we checked in -- I realize the purpose, but beginning a relationship with the perception of being ripped off when you get a credit card alert leaves a bad taste in your mouth). The majority of the resort staff was great, except the front desk folks, who had obviously been trained to blandly repeat a script. If you're OK with the above, the location and amenities are good. Large rooms. Tight parking lot if you drive a full-size pickup: use the longer spots off to the side of the pool. Good coffee in the lobby.
