I had limited options, and this place had OK reviews and was cheap so I booked a room. When I arrived, I thought it was abandoned. Gate halfway across driveway, then cones partly blocking driveway, junk piled around, and lawn a mess. Nothing like the pics here on Trip Advisor. The lady who checked me in was nice got checked in quickly. The room was relatively clean, linens clean, bed actually fairly comfortable, and walls appear to have been recently painted - still masking tape on the heater. I've been in worse. Coffee pot in the room, but no coffee. Very small, old, and very basic motel. With some work and cleaning up outside, it could be a great little quaint, retro motel. Right not it's just old and small. To top it off, there were a couple stray cats in the parking lot begging for attention, a guy in another room (who was here fighting fires) started to feed them, when a guy came huffing across the driveway, said he saw him on camera, yelled at him for feeding them, accusing him of breaking the rules - there's a rule against compassion??? Not posted anywhere. Basically kicked them out for feeding cats. Ridiculous. Until there are some changes ,I would not choose this place again.
I just spent two nights there. I was alone and basically just needed a place to sleep while in town for a community celebration. While not flashy, this inexpensive place is flawlessly kept inside. I would definitely stay there again and very well may when this annual event comes around again.
Just got shouted at by the receptionist... booked through booking.com. Selected 2 persons (as that's how many were in my party). Both of us presented to the desk last night at check in, so not trying to hide an extra person. Then at check out this morning, the receptionist went straight into yelling at me for hiding an extra person and trying to charge me an extra $10. It's not my fault if booking.com and their systems don't talk well (I've seen that before with a pet unfriendly hotel coming up as pet friendly and showing up with my dogs only to be turned away). But the receptionist wasn't hearing any of that - just yelling about her $10. I managed to chase off another guest trying to check in, so I've already cost her more than the $10 she wanted. Avoid if you don't want to get yelled at.
