Crater Lake’s closest full service town is showcased by the Prospect Historic Hotel-Motel and Dinner House. Built in 1888 as a Stage Coach Stop half-way between the Rogue Valley and Crater Lake, this Nationally Registered Historic Hotel has been restored to all of it’s glory.

Historic is the word
Historic is the correct description for the motel. Rooms are basic, clean and small. Shame dining rooms was closed. Due to rim roads being closed due to snow, we decided to cut our stay short. Property would not entertain any kind of refund, which was a shame. Would I recommend staying, probably not!

Charming Hotel
It was a great little getaway for our 33rd anniversary. The staff and room was nice. Although power was lost during the night due to a storm, staff still cooked us breakfast, which was great! We were the only ones staying at the time and staff went out of Theo way to make sure we were taken care of!

Quaint and Friendly
We stayed here because the lodge at Crater Lake was booked. The drive to Crater Lake is manageable from Prospect and the choices of places to stay are limited. There isn't much to do in Prospect because it's very remote. Our room was very nice although the bathroom was somewhat compact (as is common at many B & Bs. The staff was courteous but It would have been nice to have someone to help carry suitcases upstairs (we're a little older early 70s). The dinner we had was excellent. My wife had the salmon and I had the chicken with Rogue River blue cheese. Both are good choices. It's good that the food is good because there are only two other places to eat in Prospect. The morning we left we visited a couple of nearby waterfalls within walking distance.

Beautiful location for a Historic Hotel
Excellent restaurant accompanied this little piece of paradise nestled in the Crater Lake area. Mill Creek and the Rogue River area are hidden gems that are really incredible places to go for a walk. Highly recommended

Best place to stay for Crater Lake
Loved this historic bed and breakfast within 45 minute drive of Crater Lake. Loved the wrap around porch with afternoon refreshments, as well as the dinner service in their dining room. We had fun meeting people from all over the world who were also staying and visiting Crater Lake. The property is also close to many hiking trails with views of waterfalls and the Rogue River. The innkeepers were great, and also the daily breakfast specials were varied and yummy.
