Awful experience. When we arrived, we were skeptical of the motel so we asked to see the room prior to checking in. The room was not up to the standard shown online, so we requested a cancellation, which we were assured would follow. We went next door to Gold Beach Inn and got a much more acceptable room for the same price. Unfortunate we were not refunded the full amount due to their cancellation policy and were charged for the night, counter to the advice of the front desk. I would definitely advise you to stay away from this motel and head next door.

The light show was a bit disappointing mostly because sunset time was so late by the time it showed well on the screen it was over. Wish the totem pole had a description and a spotlight. Need extra blanket stored in the room Ocean view worth the money. Its spacious room was nicely set up, loved the plantation rockers. Had a great time on Rogue jets and your restaurant recommendations Barnicle and Indian Creek cafe were perfect. Thanks!

No airflow
The room and the view were beautiful , new, and clean. Unfortunately, our room was on ground level and there was no lock on the screen door, no other window that could be opened, and no other way to get airflow into the room. There is a beautiful in room fireplace for heat (which was not needed during our trip in July), and when we asked for a fan we were provided one, but the air in the room itself gets very muggy with the humidity of the shower and there’s no ventilation system in the room. Also, because the room appeared to be built on a mobile unit with Hollow floors underneath, the neighbors footsteps were extremely loud echoing into our space.

We stayed in a family suite, which was the top half of what looks like a little house on the property. It was expensive and a very awkward space, with no ocean view. For over $300 a night, it’s a good value if you need a king bed, two full beds, and two twins. Otherwise I regret having picked this versus a more traditional room. There is a living room with a king bed in it, a hallway along the back of the family suite to another bedroom… you pass a huge walk in closet on the way (?????? super odd) and then there is the bedroom, with two bunk beds. Full on bottom twin on top. My two kids loved all the space haha. The single bathroom had a small jet tub that looked relatively clean (don’t be fooled though, jet tubs are gross) but overall the bathroom was in a bit of disrepair and needs to be fixed up and remodeled a bit. The light show is a strange event and for that reason, I suppose it was memorable. Seeing it once was definitely enough. Everything in this town closes early, plan ahead if you get in late and are hungry or want something to do. Front desk employees were really great, Oregon seems full of nice people, but I would pass on this hotel ✌️
