A clean, quiet place to sleep.
We stayed at the Pacific Reef Hotel around eight years ago, and enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra day, for both the beach and the hotel. We returned to Gold Beach for the first time in a long time and stayed here again. We were disappointed. We opted for an ocean-facing king room, and it was clean and quiet, with fresh bedding and towels. So, $175 a night for a clean, quiet place to sleep. It could be so nice with even a little effort, a spacious room, but no furniture beyond a small round dining table and two dining table chairs. No desk, phone, couch, or even a comfortable chair for that rainy day that often comes at the beach. Minimum basic cable TV, with no instructions as to how to operate the complex remote and cable box. A single-cup coffee maker, decent coffee, and no other room amenities. An elderly mini-fridge that buzzed and hummed for three days. The sliding door to our little patio, which did have nice rocking chairs, was so difficult to open that we avoided using the door. I walked over to the office (no phones in the rooms) and told the clerk, who said the maintenance guy would come by in the morning to take a look. I think he sprayed something on the track; we could smell it when we returned, but that didn't help, and we didn't hear any more from the staff. We wrestled with the door for the rest of our stay. The overall impression was that they offered the least that they could. We see that as a trend elsewhere, but it's not encouraging us to travel. Higher and higher prices with less and less service are going to result in no occupancy at all. Great location, good "bones", but definitely a 2-star experience with one added for location and beach access.

Awesome Hidden Gem in Our Roadtrip!!!
Pacific Reef Hotel in Gold Beach is a total gem for a chill coastal getaway. It’s right on the water, and the vibe is super laid back. The coolest part is definitely their nightly outdoor light show and "adventure theater" you can grab a blanket and watch it right from your patio! With direct beach access and those iconic porch rockers, it’s the perfect spot to just watch the waves and reset.

Well worth the stay.
Very lovely place. Easy accommodations. The room was nice. Loved the short walk down to the beach or you could drive. Never did catch the light show I'm sure it was lovely as well. Very relaxing quiet, nice beaches in the town.

So glad I stayed here.
I had an upper and lower room facing the ocean and the light show. Sweet spot and the workers there were sweethearts. The ocean is just a short walk away... maybe like less than a city block.

Fine for a quick overnight stay
Very nice location on Gold Beach. Stayed in an Oceanview balcony room 2nd floor. Very spacious room and balcony with chairs and little table. View of the light show. Pros: Location, you can walk to the beach. Price is reasonable. Easy parking. Cons: No elevators so ask for first floor if you have problems climbing stairs. Everything is worn and old, bed was very uncomfortable, I think the rooms need a little update. Pictures on website are a little misleading.
