I found this Motel 6 to be better than most. Indoor corridors, unlike most in the chain. My room and bathroom were both clean and functional. Just what you need for a quick overnight stay. The staff was friendly.

I recently stayed at this Motel 6 in Sutherlin, Oregon, and it was an extremely disappointing experience. The first room we were given hadn’t been cleaned at all, and we had to request to be moved. Unfortunately, the second room they moved us to wasn’t any better. The room was noticeably filthy from the moment I walked in. The floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and there was visible dirt and grime in multiple areas. To make matters worse, there were even toenails in the corner of the room by one of the beds, which was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom was even worse—there were stains, and it didn’t feel sanitary at all. There was hair on the pillows and also in the bathtub, which made it clear the room hadn’t been properly cleaned before our arrival. The mattress smelled strongly like urine, which made the situation even more uncomfortable and unacceptable. The bedding didn’t seem fresh, and we was uneasy the entire time because everything felt unclean. There was also a lingering odor throughout the room that made it hard to relax. Basic cleanliness should be the bare minimum, but this location clearly falls short. I showed photos to the front desk of the stain covered mattress and he said "accidents happen". He offered a refund for one night because we checked out a day early but had to "ask a supervisor" about refunding the second night which never happened. Never stay here if you can help it! If I could give zero stars I would.

The staff was super nice. The outside of the hotel was nice, but that’s where it ended. There was a smell that permeated the entire hotel…a musty, sweaty, dirty smell. It was in the room! The room was seemingly clean, but that musty, dank and dirty smell was everywhere. I actually didn’t realize how bad it was until I had been driving for about an hour and realized the smell was all over me! I had a shower before going to bed and felt clean and smelled fine. But after sleeping in the bed, the stank was all over me. I have never been so thankful for a shower when I got home. Motel 6 is a budget hotel I realize, but I’ve always have had great experiences. Always clean and for the most part, a comfy, quick stop on my travels. The Sutherlin one didn’t hit the mark.

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE – MOTEL 6 SUTHERLIN, OR – NEVER AGAIN
We showed up at 2AM—me, my wife, and our two kids. My wife was in tears, just desperate to sleep. The moment we walked in, the room was clearly dirty: trash still in the can, floor not swept—but at 2AM, getting my wife into a bed took priority over anything else. When the sun came up, we saw it all. Used sheets. No clean towels. Hairballs and debris on the floor. Overflowing trash. A used menstrual pad on the floor. Yes. A used pad. In the room we were supposed to sleep in. I grabbed my family and got the hell out. I showed the front desk employee the mess. He agreed it was disgusting. Gave me half my money back and promised the manager would call. Guess what? No one ever called. Shame on you, Motel 6. This is not just bad hospitality—it’s neglect. It’s a health hazard. It’s traumatizing when your exhausted wife is in tears and this is what you hand her at 2 in the morning. You owe us more than a refund. You owe every guest better than this. Photos attached. Unexpected stay due to Mechanical Issues with the Vehicle with my Dogs. The lady in the office was Nice & willing to make exception for the Extra Dog due to my circumstance & needed to wait till the next day to get the Vehicle back on the Road. It was very appreciated. They had a small fenced in area for the Dogs as well.
