Trip of a lifetime, flying commercial for the first time from Kansas to cover the Diamond League finals/Pre Classic in Eugene an hour away. Trying to save money, picked a spot down the road in Sutherlin. Not the worst drive to and fro Eugene. I stayed three nights at this location. Gal who checked me in was very friendly and chatty. Walked into room a bit surprised at how small it was with no fridge or microwave. Went back to make sure I was in correct room and I guess I was. Normally, I'm big on those two amenities, esp on an extended stay. But I'm also easy to get along with. I adjusted to the lack of those two items (plus the gal at the desk said I could use theirs if needed) and the small size of the room. Practically, it appeared quite clean. Maybe my first non-carpeted hotel so that was a shock and added to a bit of an industrial feel, but I got used to it and didn't mind at all. TV kind of junky...believe internet based so it was never super clear. But wi-fi worked quite well for my laptop's browsing and uploading purposes. Bed was clean and comfortable. The kicker of this place was the shower. I've read how FDR installed this crazy hot and powerful shower after JFK was killed. FDR had nothing on this place. Seriously, I can't imagine an older person getting in. At 41 and relatively fit, I enjoyed the tremendous force of the shower though I was a little scared to let it hit my face at first. Seriously, you basically have to steady yourself. Awesome if you like it, probably a serious negative if you can't take it. Enjoyed the location. Right off I-5 so easy access but it almost shares a lot with a non-chain restaurant. A property over is a Burger King, and half a mile away is a McDonalds. Down the road a touch further are other options. Was a homeless guy of sorts kicking around between property and BK but I walked by him with ice cream and a bag of food and he gave no bother. Seriously, a bad 3-night stay really could have detracted from by bucket list trip. Would have loved a bigger room and the fridge and microwave but no complaints here. That crazy shower and my evening walks to BK helped cement the legacy of this trip in my mind.
Very nice 3-story building with indoor hallways and elevator, used to be Microtel. The 1 queen room is very small, 2 queens is much bigger. Spotlessly clean, no bugs, bathtub, laminate floors. Micro/fridge are available for about $7 more, or $10 more in 2 bed rooms. Fridge has no freezer. No pet fee, and a fenced pet area! Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Good restaurant next door (sign says 24/7 but they close at 8 pm). Coffee/hot water in lobby. Good wifi. No pool. Be sure to ask for any discounts when reserving. In the past, they overcharged me by about $9 over reservation price when I asked for AARP discount at the hotel. They charged me for a room upgrade charge for the same level room as my original reservation. Hotel staff could not fix it. It was a big hassle to fix it through the 800#.
Was inexpensive so we decided to stay here with our two little dogs and the staff was pleasant. Gated dog area was great to let the dogs out and this place didn’t charge a fee for the dogs to stay! Noticed there were a couple seedy looking cars in the parking lot and a few people in their cars just sitting there, thought they might take off later. They did not, and we spent much of the night watching over our car and roof rack to make sure nothing was stolen. I had Chinese food from down the street (which I would also not recommend) and threw it away outside in a small trash can by the back door. Come morning it was opened and all of the food we left it in was eaten and strewn about. The emergency exit door right in front of the homeless car was propped open, so someone could get into the building at any time of night. I closed it. Random shady people getting in and out of cars in the dark back corner of the lot. When I first got in the room I noticed a blood droplet on the wall of the bathroom. Wiped that up. Curly black hair on the top of the shower head and more hair in the bath tub which really just needed to be cleaned properly. Top comforter of the bed had a 1” burn hole in it and the sitting area by the window chair had a burn hole in it as well, surely these are not from cigarettes. Random 1” hole in the bathroom shower wall that I had to stuff something in. Not my favorite motel 6 and I would have stayed in Roseburg instead but already booked this one. Oh there is a cool diner place that is 24/7 next to it, discount on food if you bring your room key.
Very nice property for a Motel 6, was probably a different hotel in the past. Always dog friendly, they have a small off leash area that is thoughtful. We chose a room with a fridge and microwave so that was convenient. The beds were ok. The main problems were no TV (the cable was out apparently), and no hot water. But it was a good value and I appreciate that.
Warm water only, this smaller than other locations, reception is terrible gets blurry all channels had to use the wifi for iPad to watch TV, no continental breakfast just coffee. My company tried to call the place at starting at 11:30on Sunday morning multiple times and no one ever answered the phone here not until I came in at 13:30 to Check in did someone attempt to answer my call while I was at desk ,yes they have truck parking but this place not worth the money they want to charge it is a $39.99 room motel no more ice machine on 2nd floor not working either people can be helpful but place is a big dive bed he'll my back hurt from it and no blankets just sheets ant bed spread.....
