No decaf for pregnant ladies
I chose Juniper Preserve because it markets itself as a luxury wellness resort that is family friendly, but unfortunately our experience fell far short of those expectations. I’m pregnant and thought this would be a great relaxing trip off season. The issues began upon arrival when we discovered stained bed sheets that also smelled strongly of cologne or fragrance. After calling for assistance and waiting approximately 45 minutes, we were told housekeeping had already left for the day. Weird that housekeeping isn’t on property all day, but okay. Clean sheets were eventually delivered, but I ended up changing the bed myself. That evening, the bathroom door somehow locked from the outside, leaving us unable to access the bathroom or our toddler’s medication. Resolving the issue took far longer than it should have and created an incredibly stressful situation while we were trying to get a tired 3-year-old to bed. They eventually opened the door to the next room so we could use the bathroom and then left us. We found out the next day that meant we could now use the second room as an accommodation - which no one explicitly explained. We had to ask the front desk what the deal was with the open door. I also discovered there was no decaf coffee available anywhere on the property. After being sent from one outlet to another, I was ultimately told the nearest decaf coffee was about 30 minutes away by car. Hello - that’s an hour trip for coffee. For a resort that promotes wellness and relaxation, it was surprising that there was not even decaffeinated tea available in the room. Any one of these issues on its own might have been understandable. What was disappointing was the pattern: problems arose, but there was very little ownership or proactive service recovery. Time and again, the burden seemed to fall on us to find solutions rather than the resort. Management’s resolution was to refund the $105 resort fee and late checkout. While appreciated, it did not feel commensurate with the cumulative impact these issues had on our stay. They said the room was the accommodation because we now were using a living room. I explained that we didn’t ask for a living room, we just needed access to a working bathroom… Management, Josef was not understanding at all. The property had great views, but the service and operational execution did not match the luxury experience being advertised. Even motel 6 has coffee and tea for pregnant ladies.

Relaxing Stay with amazing views
An amazing experience, super relaxing. Brought our dog, they had walking paths and an area for him. Went to the bar, great cocktails and bites with spectacular view of the mountains. Loved this romantic getaway

A great stay
Such an improvement since last time I came. Particularly with the dining and drinks.

Very rude front desk manager and subpar overall experience.
Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience here. We stayed one night for Thanksgiving. The front desk manager, a blonde haired woman (with bad hair extensions), was very rude. My first interaction with her was when I called to ask about their King room and if the couch pulled out for our 4 year old. She was rude and short on the phone. When we arrived two days ago for check in, I recognized her voice. I said our dog who is an ESA was traveling with us and provided his verification card. She said "ok great" and handed the card back to me. The next morning I got a charge on my bill for $75 for the dog stay. When I asked why, the same woman claimed they do not accept ESA's and we'd still be charged. I asked her why she did not explain that at check in when I provided his card and she told me I was "supposed to know that already" - meanwhile EVERY other hotel accepts his ESA card with no additional charge. This hotel was dead with barely any guests so I guess they're struggling financially and need every little extra charge. I paid $30 for a specific sauna session in their barrel sauna from 7:30-8:30am yesterday. When we went out to the sauna it had not been turned on for us and was 50 degrees inside the sauna. I had a full work day yesterday and only had that one hour before starting a long work day at 9am. So this was highly disappointing. The Thanksgiving buffet for $80/person was ok. No major complaints on that. We are Bend locals and would not return - mostly because of the rude nature of the front desk manager.

Expansive views of surrounding mountains, sweeping vistas and glorious sun sets and moon rises. Lovely rooms, great food
The hotel is gorgeous! Wild sage lined pathways welcome you along a winding road to an incredibly well appointed hotel. The king- bed Mountain View room was expansive! The bathroom had a lovely shower- lots of hot water! Great comfy bed with incredible views. The hotel’s restaurant, Iris, has lots of gf, v, and df options. The food is delicious, try the gf chicken chili and some of the curated mock tails. The servers were super knowledgeable about food sensitivities and allergens. The resort has rentals for pickleball courts, bikes, and golf. There is a great fitness center with weights, elliptical machines, and Peloton bikes. Take a walk along the perimeter of the preserve and enjoy the beauty of the high desert. Star gazing at night from the heated-extra-large hot tub and salt water pool truly top off the relaxing experience. Take time to sit by one of the numerous fire pits breathing in the fresh air and brilliant colors of the high desert. Enjoy this well designed hotel.
