Nightmare in the Fourth of July
From the moment we stepped into our room, we were harassed by the man in the room next to us. There is a shared balcony by all rooms. We stayed here because the view of the river and the promise of great fireworks show. We were super excited to stay there and enjoy the night. The “night” turned into a nightmare. As soon as we stepped out on the balcony, we were confronted by a man who was drunk, smoking, and walking in and out of his room. This man was walking in front of our room smoking, knocking on our window, and creepily peering in our room. He was very loud and even opened our sliding glass door. We locked it, that’s when I called the front desk the first time. I explain my dismay with the confrontation of this man and his constant chain-smoking and the young lady at the front desk told me, “oh it’s OK to smoke on the balcony”. When we checked in, we were told no smoking in the rooms, no smoking on the balcony and that it was strictly enforced. My family members are allergic to cigarette smoke. That’s why we asked if it was non smoking. Front desk said that they won’t do anything about it unless they get a complaint. I told her I was making a complaint and They did nothing. No air conditioning so opening slider is the only option but not when you have a drunk man smoking and trying to open our sliding door. This man was very loud through the night, in which neighbors were telling him to shut up and he was yelling back, I don’t have to shut up, get in my face and see what happens, and very confrontational. I don’t believe anyone could enjoy the fireworks on the Fourth of July with that drunk talking over everybody, and getting into everybody’s business.we’ve called several times to the front desk and they said all we came checked on it and there’s there was no problem. As the neighbor started yelling at him for ruining their time he finally went into his room smoking. He ranted throughout the whole 45 minutes of the fireworks show. Terrible management.
Quotes are not the price when you check in
Every time we make a reservation we get a quoted price we arrive here and the room is more Than the quote. Then we are stuck. They won’t confirm by email, so no proof the the quote. Been coming here for years. Keeps getting worse!
Stay away until service levels improve
Ovepriced, 2 nights $283.00 Reported to front desk there was no shampoo/conditioner in the dispensers located in the tub area. I thought it was because of covid19 they were not filled. So, expected at the least individual ones. Only one tiny, and I mean tiny bar of soap. Asked for another. No delivery of shampoo and a bare bar of soap minus any wrapper was placed on the sick rim. No grab n go continental breakfast, which most other hotels had been offering, we were told we could purchase food to go or do inside seating at their restaurant as they were serving breakfast, and was given a menu handout. Does not do much good when it doesn't open until 11:00 a.m. All 3 front desk interactions gave off the impression of "oh well". The view of the bridge and river was nice, but getting the ripped screen door to open was a challenge. The name says "Resort", but it was far from it. It was not a pleasant experience. Pool closed as expected. Waaay overpriced for the level of amenities available and do it yourself housekeeping. ( I get it that housekeeping is limited now, which is fine) Stay away until they get their service priorities squared away during the Covid19 era.
Jots Resort is by far the friendliest Resort I’ve stayed at. The staff is the best, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know them all. The views are remarkable from any room you stay in. I am a regular and I am so thankful for the hospitality and I look forward to seeing all the updates be completed.
Clean with a nice view
It's a fish camp. The rooms was spartan, not even a cover for the box springs. However, the room was large, clean and the bed comfortable. It's very reasonably priced. The view is the best part. It is a nice view overlooking the Rogue River and harbour. While a bit noisy during the day, it quiets right down at night. One thing we did enjoy, we watched seals cruising the river right from our room balcony. It was a good stay on this part of the coast.
