Run Down
The room has not been updated in years, furniture was scuffed up the bathroom door was off the rollers, had it repaired and it fell off again. The beds were so hard might as well been sleeping on the floor. Tried to call the office got a busy signal had to use my phone to call so the ones in the room only gave you a busy signal as there was no one in the office had to check in at another hotel up the street. Paid $323.00 for 2 nights for a shabby room, very disappointed

Just ok
So here is the good, the bad and the ugly. Good: Location, it's pretty much ocean front. It was relatively clean. The decor was charming. The bed was comfortable. It had most of the amenities; coffee maker, wife and cable tv, shampoo, fridge and microwave. No dvd. And charming gas fireplace stoves for heat. It is also pet friendly. The bad: Due to covid there is no breakfast, pool and spa are closed. There is no daily housekeeping so if you need coffee, towels, tp, shampoo, etc., you have to get from the lobby from 1-9. It smells musty. It's not dog and chemicals, it's more old wet castle smell. Didn't bother me, but I have good castle memories. The bedding is old and stained and barely fits the bed; think king size on a cal king. The cleaning is half assed so if you want pristine, take a pass. It's shabby and has chipped paint and missing grout. The exterior needs a good power washing. It had maybe 10 channels on the tv with no guide. There are no snack or soda machines and the only ice maker is in the lobby. Only open from 1-9. The ugly: If you get a room with something broken or missing, ask for a new room immediately because you will never, never get anything fixed no matter how much you ask. They don't take cash! Only cards! All that said, most rooms are decent and if you're not ocd clean and super picky, you will love the view and the gas fireplace. It's definitely seen better days, but it's still rather quaint.

Pictures are deceiving
Hotel options in Gold Beach are SLIM, but this hotel would not be on my repeat list. Very old and dated! The only thing going for this hotel were the ocean views from our room and the short walk to the beach. Covid19 protocols in place. No breakfast, no pool, no spa, no daily housekeeping service. WiFi worked! Very limited number of TV channels.

Disgusting uninhabitable room
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were holes in the walls and a large crack in the front door. We had been evacuated from Talent OR due to a wild fire. Smoke and very bad air quality existed. Smoke was pouring into our room constantly. The place was filthy. For all of this they charged us $188 a night. On the second day we relocated to a terrific location at the Gold Beach Inn. When we got there they had a newly renovated room with a Kitchenette for $50 less a night. You would think they would have given us a better room and lowered the charges as we weren't there for vacation but to save our lives. Attention Gold Beach Inspectors: This place needs to be inspected and cited for all of their unacceptable infractions. Shame on "the Inn of the Beachcomber" You are an embarrassment to your Community!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t Stay Here!
The rooms are large and we had a very comfortable bed , a balcony with a beautiful ocean view. The rest is a nightmare. The property is dated, in disrepair and NOT CLEAN. The sheets looked used and the towels were DIRTY. The mirrors had not been cleaned. We were able to get someone to bring new towels (which half were still dirty) as well as clean sheets. They recleaned the bathroom. At check in they hand you a paper which asks you not to be “nasty” to the staff; as well as advising you you have 30 minutes from the time of check in to ask for a refund. Even though it was late at night when we got into our room, I wish we had just left and lost our money. It was not worth the risk to our health and safety during this pandemic. Keep safe and stay away.
