Inn at Haystack Rock has irresistible charm with its courtyards and home-like amenities. This newly renovated inn is steps from the beach and minutes from downtown Cannon Beach, making it a coveted destination. The inn offers a variety of amenities including hot tubs, kitchens, fireplaces, and private patios.

Disappointing... Check in was tough; when I registered (Live) they didn't inform me there's 2 locations. I drove to the address where my room was. Took several calls & a few exasperating turns trying to locate them. Room was clean & neat BUT had several issues including: 1) unable to connect to the internet; 2) tub wouldn't seal so couldn't soak in the tub, 3) tub didn't drain while showering & WATER STILL THERE IN THE MORNING, and 4) I was chilly ALL NIGHT LONG. Office staff leave by 9 pm; guests have a # to call & ARE INSTRUCTED ONLY TO CALL IF it's an EMERGENCY. Next day staff sent someone to the room to resolve issues but I LEFT that morning. The fix it guy told me 1) the password provided DOESN'T MATCH the specific way one is supposed to enter it; failures are common, 2) tubs often don't seal, 3) they sometimes don't properly drain, and 4) they don't provide INSTRUCTIONS on how to work in the in-room auto fireplace which is the SOURCE OF HEAT! TRULY was cold all night long; not at ALL what one expects when renting a room!! Was told I'd receive some sort of compensation; so far NONE has been offered NOR DID ANYONE FROM THE INN @ HAYSTACK ROCK CONTACT ME AFTER I LEFT (They HAVE MY CELL #). OH - ONE MORE frustrating detail. They prefer guests check in on-line. I was en route; BUT pulled over twice to fulfill that request. NO DICE. Their system "OFTEN FAILS" TO WORK. There's a 'THEME HERE...'
We enjoyed our time at the Inn at Haystack Rock. The rooms are small, but very clean and have a microwave, coffee maker and great ceramic coffee mugs. We were grateful for the provided plug in fan for hot summer nights, since there is no air-conditioning in the room. The courtyard with Adirondack chairs and fire pit are enjoyable to use on the hot summer nights. The inn is only a few blocks from the shops and restaurants of Cannon Beach. A very easy walk.
It was overpriced by about 50 dollars. I wanted a place by the water to stay, that part was nice. It seemed that they were old duplexes that were former homes, which made my stay unappealing. It had a gentrified vibe. Check in is at 4PM?! When check out is at 11AM. I could go to the hallmark hotel for the same price when they have 2 SALT POOLS. this is good when you want a cottage vibe, but I do regret stay here. My neighbor at the haystack tried to call the emergency number around 10 and no one answered. It’s important to answer emergency lines overall.
The Inn at Haystack Rock is a very quaint place. It has everything one needs and is comfortable. It’s not fancy but they’ve done a nice job creating a warm and clean hotel. It’s a block from the beach and easily walkable to restaurants and stores.
Wow, talk about making a memory. It is a beautiful little place with lovely flowers, fountains, and birds. Our cottage had a little porch and table so we could sit outside and enjoy the weather. The room was so lovely and homey and decorated nicely. The bed was great, everything we needed. We took out bikes and toured downtown. They gave us chairs and blankets to watch the sunset on the beach right across the street. We walked to great restaurants to eat. I will be back for sure!
