Had a wonderful time, beautiful setting, friendly staff. Right across the street from a super clean beach. The only noise at night is that of the waves. Convenient to shops and restaurants. We will definitely go back!
A Great Place to Stay
The Inn is simply a great place to stay. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The view is magnificent. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The bed is very comfortable and we loved the fireplace. If you are staying in Pacific City you can't go wrong staying here.
Spectacular setting and service
Besides all the usual awesome facilities and service, I once again forgot something in my room that was easily, happily and promptly mailed back to me. My experiences with The Inn at Cape Kiwanda going "above and beyond" for its guests are now firmly entrenched in my expectations!
Worst room at the hotel
We booked our room online for one night stay on our way up the coast. We arrived at the hotel 2:30pm and asked whether it was possible to check in early. The woman at the front desk said she would check into it and our room was just about ready. We left a cell phone number and were told we would receive a text when the room was ready. An hour later we had not heard from the hotel and went back to see if our room was ready. Front desk woman said our room wasn’t ready but she would check into it again. I asked whether we could just have a different room of equal quality that was already clean since the vacancy light was lit up. She said we should wait for our assigned room because it had the best view and we would be very happy we waited for it. Another half an hour later we received a text that our room was ready and when we finally got to our room we were disappointed to say the least. We had a second floor room on the end that looked out on the parking lot and brew pub across the street. All we could see was the parking lot, pub, and tip of the rock. The smaller window to the south gave us a view of the grocery store, the highway and some machinery just outside our window, perhaps an air conditioning unit. I called the front desk and asked if we could have another room, one with a better view. Front desk woman said no, all rooms were filled, sorry about that. I asked her why the vacancy sign was on if all rooms were filled and she said the vacancy sign stays on until all rooms at the Inn, the Headlands and the Airstream RV Resort were filled. I told her we were led to believe we were getting a room with a great view. Sorry about that she said. The a few minutes later we got a call from the hotel manager . He heard we were disappointed in our room and was there anything he could do. I said yes, he could switch us to another room. No, he said, all rooms are reserved and could he offer us a bottle of wine? No thanks, I see the grocery store next door and I can walk over and buy a bottle of wine myself but I paid $250 for a view room and this is a big disappointment I said. Additionally, our room has a Jacuzzi tub facing the “view window”, but we’re not going to take a Jacuzzi and leave the curtains open when everyone in the parking lot driving in and out looks right into our window. Lesson learned. Don’t book with Hotels.com because you will be given the worst room. Instead, arrive at the hotel at the last hour and ask to see what rooms are available and ask for the lowest rate they can sell you that room for.
Love the Inn at Cap Kiwanda
We visited for our 4th annual girls trip and we had a wonderful time. The front desk staff is always so great and the rooms can't be beat. All the rooms have a terrific view of Haystack Rock and the ocean.
