Property is not what it used to be
The positive - front desk staff was responsive and helpful. Room was clean. The negatives - 1. There was a hum in the wall between the bedroom and bathroom that kept us awake at night. 2. Breakfast was pretty dismal. The coffee machine and pancake machine were out of order. During our stay they ran out of bananas and bread.
The staff are super personable and always willing to help. I will continue to stay here when I visit Bend. It's hard to get great service and cleanliness but this hotel embodies that. Food was great as well.
Very Nice Hotel, Excellent Coffee at Breakfast, Could Use Some TLC
We stayed here at the end of December 2023. Very nice hotel that is conveniently located. The Good ---------------- ↑ Good location, especially if going up to Mount Bachelor, and walking distance to Old Mill and downtown (30 minute walk, partially on river trail). ↑ Spacious rooms. ↑ Clean ↑ Good price. ↑ Fairly good breakfast (but go to breakfast by 7:00 a.m.). Very good bagels but they don’t buy enough so they run out early. They also run out of almond milk. Wish that they had some plain yogurt and Greek yogurt. As with most hotels the scrambled eggs are either powdered or instant. Some days they had bacon, some days they had sausage. They have an automatic pancake making machine. ↑ Excellent coffee, a commercial Nespresso machine that grinds the beans and dispenses a variety of espresso drinks, and chocolate drinks. Usually I have to make coffee in our room because the hotel coffee is so bad, but not in this hotel. ↑ They have a secure room where you can store bicycles. ↑ Good parking lot. ↑ Plenty of luggage carts. ↑ Refrigerator and microwave in room. The Bad ------------- ↓ They run out of breakfast items early so even though breakfast is 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. you really want to get breakfast by 7 a.m. for the best selection. ↓ Too many yappy dogs. We were lucky since the rooms adjacent to ours had no dogs, but as we walked down the hall we heard many dogs barking. They really need some pet-free floors. ↓ Pool and spa are not well maintained. The pool water was very cloudy, they need some clarifier or flocculant, or better filtering. ↓ They don’t replenish the towels at the pool so be sure to bring a towel from your room. ↓ The showers at the pool were not operational. The handles both fell off. They put one of the handles back the next day. The hot & cold were reversed on the operational shower because they put the cartridge in backwards. ↓ The was no housekeeping. You had to go down to the desk to get items like toilet paper or garbage bags. They do replace towels if you leave them outside your door. ↓ Clock in pool/spa is broken, always shows five o’clock ↓ Only Pepsi is sold. People that drink Pepsi are standing in the way of human progress. ↓ They have a restaurant, sort of, a pub that is open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., serving a few pub type food items at high prices, but it closed too early for us. Bend has a huge number of brew-pubs, one of which we walked to from the hotel, Monkless Belgian Ales. ↓ The lock on the door to the pool and spa is missing so anyone can go in without a room key. This is very dangerous since children could easily access the pool without an adult.
Our BW Hotel Experience
This is my best BW hotel and experience. My daughter is very impressed. She said it feels like home. We stayed on King with fireplace and 2 Queen. We are 6 adults and it’s roomy. Room was clean, as well as the bathroom with enough towels and toiletries for all of us. We had a nice swim at the heated indoor pool and relaxed at the sauna. WiFi is fast. Hotel is less than 30 minutes drive to Mt Bachelor's. Staff were all wonderful people. Breakfast buffet has lots of choices with locally made bread and muffin. We definitely will stay again.
We are in the process of relocating we booked the stay at the peppertree inn the roads were terrible along the way we ended up checking in very late we were very tired. Staff was very helpful in checking Us in promptly so we could get our rest we had business meetings the next day meeting with potential employers we got a very good night sleep started the morning with an excellent breakfast there is a wide variety of local baked goods I would have paid for breakfast like that. We also were able to use the business center computers and printer to make copies of resumes and search for jobs and locations of potential properties overall extremely satisfied have already recommended it to my family.
