I saw the low TripAdvisor rating but took a chance because I stay at Holiday Inn for work a lot, and I generally like this chain. After 2 nights here, my wife and I liked this hotel. The hotel is located in a residential area off 101, which makes it more quiet (no car noise). One time we saw 3 deer walking through the hotel parking lot. Our room looked pretty new. The bed, couch, desk, etc. all look newish. We slept well every night. Breakfast was above average with pancake, bagels, egg, yogurt, fruits, etc.

We stayed 3 days as a base for touring the northern and central coast of Oregon Sept 2026. Took 3 attempts (was told and written on key card the wrong room number, we walked into a room already occupied, that's not unsettling is it!) to get the correct key card for the correct room, clerk was terse! The thermostat for the ac/heat did not work. The Ice machine on our floor out of order, I don't have a problem going to another floor. The laundry facilities (washing machine) were out of order, we were traveling for 12 days and needed laundry facilities, had to go down the street. It seems as though there may be maintenance issues at this facility? The breakfast was great as usual for Holiday Inn.

We are IHG members, but made our reservation through Hotels.com because the rate was better and we are longtime members of their rewards program. We received confirmation from the hotel thanking us for booking with them and telling us they were looking forward to us staying with them. We then drove two hours to get to the hotel. When we arrived, Max told us the hotel was oversold, and we didn't have a room there. I asked how that was possible, and he responded, "Because you booked through a 3rd party and they profit off of you people". He claimed he tried to reach us through Hotels.com, but said they didn't have our email or phone number. I brought up an email and message that I received from his hotel through Hotels.com on my phone and showed it to Max. He said, "You should have used Expedia. We have direct booking through them." I explained that Expedia owns Hotels.com, but Max informed us we would have to stay somewhere else because they sold our room before we arrived. I asked about a refund, and Max said we would need to contact Hotels.com. When I contacted Hotels.com, they explained the Holiday Inn Express had received our payment for the room and would have to approve the refund. They contacted the hotel and were told a manager would have to process it. I called the following night, and Max answered and explained he wasn't capable of refunding the money. The next day I contacted Hotels.com, and they were finally able to issue a refund. We didn't appreciate not getting the room we paid for or being lectured about how we should have booked directly through the hotel.

Horrible
They kept my “incidental deposit” for no reason and it was literally impossible to get ahold of an actual person to address this. Spent an hour on the phone with their corporate office getting transferred to At least six different operators. Will NEVER stay at a Holiday Inn again!!
