Poor Guest Service makes for a bad stay
On 7-16-23 we checked our room for the linen for the pull out couch, all three drawers and the closet, and the pull out itself. We didn't find any linen, no extra pillow. We called down to request the linen and a extra towel, because there is 5 of us in the room, they know this because they charged us $35.00 extra for the extra adult, therefore we would most definitely want the linen for the extra person to sleep in the room, right. The lady at the desk tells us housekeeping is gone for the day and we have to come down to get the bedding. Not a issue, I completely understand, considering I worked in hotels for about 25 years, was even a housekeeping manager myself and worked the front desk, I know how busy hotels can be. I go down and the first thing I see is a housekeeper, interesting she lied to me. Staring off with excellent customer service. I am waiting for someone to come help me, and I see someone walking towards me with some bedding. I assume it is for me. So I check it and it is 1 pillow, 1 pillowcase, 1 brown blanket and 1 decorative top sheet. So I wait while is on her cellphone and let her know there is only the decorative and no fitted, I would at least like the fitted. She says we don't have any more and this was all she could find. So, I question her again, all I am asking for is just a fitted sheet. It isn't acceptable to ask your guest to sleep on a bare mattress. Sleeping next to a ac unit we would need more than just the brown blanket. I thought hotels were all about being hospitable? I mean they did charge us $35.00 extra for the extra person staying in the room, I want them to be comfortable. In all my 25 years, I have never heard of this fee and you have the audacity to give me attitude about the bedding that was supposed to be in the room in the first place. While in our room, we heard a vacuum running as well, but housekeeping went home for the night. I called down the next night to get her name and the person working didn't even know her name, she told me it wad Kayla or Jayla, she was so new. She asked me, Uh oh, what happened. I said it was ok, I will take care of it. There was nothing to take care of, what could he done? A apology? It was a third party reservation, they can't take anything off of my bill, we wasn't coming back, they can't offer another free night. I was almost like she treated us differently Because we was a 3rd party reservation. ALL guests should be treated equally. We paid to stay there just like any other guest and Kayla or Jayla who ever was working the 3 to 11 shift this Sunday needs some training on guest interaction. I totally understand, I worked the front desk all 3 shifts and know how difficult guests can be, but I was super friendly to her. She just had a ugly attitude and probably shouldn't work at a hotel, it isn't for everyone and she definitely doesn't fit in the category of everyone. Everyone else at the hotel was very pleasant.
