One night stay
For our first visit to Astoria we spent a night at the Holiday Inn Express. I chose this location for its reasonable pricing and excellent location. We had an upper floor with a grand view of the bridge and the Columbia inlet. Had a great sleep and enjoyed the convenience of their morning breakfast choices. Parking was plentiful in December. Properly was clean and quiet. Very enjoyable stay.
Great short visit, wish it was longer
We came on a Saturday for a single night, I had booked ahead of time into their 2 room suite. We did arrive a little early and the room wasn't quite ready. We took a nice walk on the waterfront while we waited. We were able to check in about an hour before official check-in time which was nice. We loved the room. It was clean and comfortable. Worked great for our 2 children. All slept well. I had emailed with the General Manager and she had replied very promptly to my questions. We'd love to stay here again in the future. My only complaint would be the breakfast - two issues, the food kept running out and didn't seem to be replaced very promptly and secondly the food quality wasn't what I'd hoped it to be. I understand we shouldn't expect a gourmet breakfast but a little higher quality would be nice. Again though, great location, friendly staff and we hope to come back again.
GREAT LOCATION, VERY CLEAN, WONDERFUL BREAKFAST.
Nice relaxing seating area in the entrance of the hotel. No restaurant or Bar at this hotel. Complimentary breakfast was provided. Location is right downtown, almost under the bridge. The view from the back mof the hotel is the river, boardwalk and bridge. You are within walking distance to many eating facility, breweries, bars, or Museum. You are 30 min. from Fort Stevens and all the beaches at Fort Stevens. Breakfast area was very clean, large and many choices including hot food. My room had a fireplace which was very cozy. The room was very large, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. Parking is provided in front of the Hotel. Well lit parking area. Our room had a microwave and refrig. TIP: Visit the Column, $5.00 to park, and a great view, only blocks away from Holiday Inn. Driving is preferred because of how steep it is. There are picnic tables up there so take a lunch. You can buy airplanes to fly off of the column which is free to climb. Walking the board walk is fun to do in Astoria and you may see Sea lions and all the Ships that come and go from the Pacific Ocean up and down the Columbia River. -You can get up and walk the boardwalk, then come back to the hotel, clean up and then leave.
My Girlfriend and I stayed 2 nights recently. The room was immaculate, awesome river view. The staff was very pleasant and courteous. We had her dog with us and the park directly West of the hotel was very clean and convenient. The hotel is on the trolley stop and there are several restaurants and a brewpub within walking distance.
Location Location Location
This is really a great location. Rooms have beautiful river views, The river walk sits just outside and you walk to the end going left where there are a few nice restaurants - both sit down overloaking the river and on benches in paper containers with a view. Going right is much longer but the trolley stop is very close by and a buck or two gets you a round trip. The trolley takes you all the way down the river walk to many bars and restaurants, and other attractions (museum, historical, etc). The rooms are spacious with separtate closets, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Nice seating areas and table, plus lamps with extra outlets and charging ports with those traveling with much electrtonics. Despite the trolley and riverwalk just outside the back of the hotel, it was fairly quiet and the time we stayed the trolley didn't run till almost noon. We were in the higher floors.
