I decided to give this hotel a try because of its location and I was not disappointed. Driving up through Oregon the hotel is right by the bridge as you enter Astoria. There was ample parking and a feeling of security when you are there. I was greeted very warmly at reception and check in was swift and efficient. I booked a bridge view suite and was assigned room 426 on the top floor. The room was spacious, opening into a sitting room with a settee and also a large writing desk. This opened into a kitchenette area and on to the bedroom. The bedroom had a large partially opening window offering a panoramic view of the river and the bridge. There was a second wall mounted TV in the bedroom and also a live flame fireplace. The bed was extremely comfortable with four large, luxuriously soft pillows. The bed had fine linen and was extremely comfortable with a nice thick mattress topper. Air-conditioning and the opening windows enabled me to maintain the room at the temperature I desired. The bathroom was a decent size with a large vanity area with appropriate toiletries, and a bath again well supplied with toiletries. They were plenty of fluffy towels of mixed sizes. The entire room area was immaculately clean, as indeed, were all the public areas of the hotel. The room was serviced daily, and the young lady carrying out the work was bright and friendly and very personable. The hotel had a small gym and a decent sized swimming pool and hot tub, all well maintained at appropriate temperatures. Again, everything was very clean indeed. Breakfast was taken in the little dining room, and a reasonable range of simple items were available. An automatic dispenser, provided fruit juices and water and this was to a very high quality. The dining area was maintained constantly and had a nice atmosphere. My stay at this hotel was very comfortable and very enjoyable

Super locale, cleanliness, friendliness, pool and breakfast.
Super locale, friendly, spacious, clean and new. Good breakfast with ground coffee. Clean pool and hot tub. Quiet and right under the bridge. A photographers dream. Great restaurant walking distance 300 yards to the left.

Great hotel. Excellent location. Clean, spacious rooms. Really good breakfast in morning. If you’re on the river side, you can watch all the ships. Great view of the bridge and river while eating breakfast. Large chest freezer for fresh fish by ice machine on first floor. Would stay here again.

Excellent stay at HGI Astoria.
An amazing experience. Great location on the water right off of 101 and near downtown Astoria. Ample parking, amazing views, great service, and excellent rooms. Breakfast met or exceeded the standard HGI. Definitely will be back--one of the best if not best HGI I've stayed in.

Holiday Inn Express Employees are amazing!
After a 14 hour day with a young family member who who had had a life-threatening emergency; Lisa at the front desk accommodated our unexpected needs finding us a very peaceful room where we could sleep. Thank you Tina, thank you IHG. I have always liked HIEs, and now I am so appreciative of the “way-beyond-5-star” rating they deserve today and everyday. Tina is five-star!!
