Great choice while in Grants Pass
We stopped here for one night while on West Coast road trip. The property is just off the I-5. The welcome was fantastic from Clark and his team. We had room on 4th floor at front of building overlooking the valley and out to the mountains. The room was very clean, although with older style furniture. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. The breakfast was, again, really good and kept well stocked. The scrambled eggs and sausages were great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would return if in the area

Not the best stay
Good room and pleasant staff but too many other things brought the rating down. Hot tub was out of order (they share it with a best western). No shower gel in the dispenser. Breakfast had no fruit and pancake maker wasn’t working. Also, there were no utensils for a while. Finally, the ceiling creaks very loudly when people are walking above you. I read another google review where they suggested staying on the top floor because of all the creaking sounds. I can definitely concur with that. It didn’t make for a good night’s sleep.

Don't stay here
We needed to move our reservation up a few days due to some bad weather cutting our trip short. After calling days in advance of our stay, we were reassured the stay was properly adjusted. Now they are trying to bill us for both nights (the night we actually stayed and the night we originally scheduled). The front desk was extremely rude when we tried to sort it with them. Now I've spent an hour on the phone with IHG trying to get this sorted. I've talked to 5 different people so far and still have no resolution.

This is the gold standard for Holiday Inn Express properties
I have been staying in HIE's for many years. I have seen bad ones, ho hum ones and excellent ones, this one is the latter. I had checked in online prior to arrival so when I walked in the door everything was already done. The super polite gentlemen at the desk acknowledged my loyalty status, thanked me several times, mentioned extra loyalty points, gave me a modest gift, offered excellent dinner recommendations and made check in painless. I had a special request which he quickly accommodated with ease. Our room was the perfect example of what my profile requests, clean, quiet and comfy. Breakfast was typical but tasty, the breakfast area was spotless and well stocked. The location is convenient to I5 or heading down to the coast depending on your next destination. A day after our stay I got a survey asking how they did, always a nice touch. Overall this is as good as any HIE I have stayed in, they set the bar high for other HIE's to strive for.

Live and learn
We have stayed at this hotel a few times when in town visiting family. It is a decent hotel. Located just off of the freeway, free breakfast and dog friendly all at a reasonable price. It checks all the boxes. The downside to this visit was we were placed right next to the exit door. We didn’t think anything of it until we woke up at 5:30am to the first few people exiting with a slammed door. When your teenagers comment you know it’s loud. In the future I would ask not to be placed next to the exit. I also noticed some wear and tear in our room. The hotel did feel clean and the staff was hospitable.
