    Top notch customer service

My cycling partner and I were returning very late from riding the Crater Lake Century and did not have reservations. The first place we contacted was full. Based on Trip Advisor reviews we contacted the folks at the Highlander. Boy, was it our lucky day. They had a room available and we booked it. However, even though we were not able to show up until after 9:00 pm they held the room without asking for our credit card to hold the room. Amazing. Check in was flawless and we had a very comfortable room. We had to be on the road super early the next morning and did not partake in their breakfast offerings. The nicest surprise came after I discovered that several hours after we left that I had left my iPad in the room. Brian contacted us and offered to mail it to me, which he did and it arrived a couple of days after we got home. We certainly appreciate their thoughtfulness and great customer service. I would stay there again if the opportunity ever presents itself.

Best Place in the Area to Stay

The people that run the place are really nice and accommodating. I arrived to collect my reserved room only to find I had reserved a room in Heppner not La Pine. The owner called Heppner and relayed my mistake and convinced them not to charge me for their room. Phones were out while I was there so she let me use the business phone to make my calls. Room had flat screen, microwave, refrigerator, table, chairs and shower but no tub. Have stayed here twice before and room was $72.90 for two. (Price is now $90.30 for single, to high for me.) is an incorrect statement in my previous review. I chose to stay in a double queen bed room because it was only one left and I really wanted to stay there. Prices haven’t changed. Brian responded to my review and pointed out my error. This place is definitely worth it for it's character and personable owners.

    Clean and comfortable motel

The aspect of this motel is rather poor, right next to a filling station. However, the room was very spacious with all of the items you would expect. The bonus was a fully equipped kitchen. This makes up for the rather meagre breakfast supplied. The furnishings need to updated to earn five stars.

    Would recommend!

My wife and I stayed at highlander unexpectedly, but didn't regret it: you get value for money, a small but clean and comfortable room, with breakfast and coffee and wifi. Owner was really friendly and accommodating - he even got on the roof to fix a minor issue for us. I would recommend this motel.
