I am a Hilton Honors member and love the service that comes staying at a Hilton affiliated hotel. When you step into this hotel the world is left behind, a calm and friendly atmosphere greets you. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the bed. I got very little sleep, waking on the half hour most the night. If you love an extra firm bed they have it. I felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I have never stayed at a Hilton or Hilton affiliated hotel that the bed wasn't perfect, not sure why these aren't. It will keep me from booking at this particular hotel again, sadly.
This was my sixth or seventh time staying at the Hampton Inn in Eugene and it continues to be one of my favorite places to stay in Oregon. The employees at the front desk are consistently helpful and easy too deal with. The breakfasts are great. I also love the heated swimming pool! The rooms are always comfortable, and I’m always amazed at how quiet the hotel is after 10:00 pm. Finally, the hotel is close to restaurants, shopping, and most importantly, the University of Oregon. (I’m a big Ducks fan) I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone station in Eugene. It’s a great place,
I reserved the room based on the fair price, and I was happy with the service and product. I appreciated the full staffing--there were usually two agents at the front desk, so I never had to wait (some hotels I've visited lately have vacant front desks), and they were always helpful. I loved the room layout, which included a LONG bathroom counter so you actually had a place to put your stuff. I also liked the minimalist style--there weren't little signs or mini bottles and junk sitting around the room.
I stayed at Hampton Inn because of the good reviews but was surprised to see that this has turned into a homeless camp. People we passed in an upper floor looked dirty. Dogs were running up and down the halls. At 2 AM, a tweeker took the room directly above us and STOMPED back and forth for 2 hours. Were we early to breakfast and the only other person there was a homeless man. I have some compassion for the homeless but I did not pay good money to sleep with them. I asked the front desk if the government was paying to house them here. She confirmed that was the case.
We were warmly welcomed at the front desk when we checked in. The suite was clean, spacious, and well-stocked. The nightlight in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise. I also appreciated the extra towel hooks in the shower room. The beds were very comfortable as was the sofa bed. Breakfast was bountiful and we particularly loved the mini-Belgian waffle maker! We will stay again.
