I stayed in The Brown Pelican room facing the ocean. I considered it money well spent. Easy check in and check out. About mid-way up the Oregon Coast, I spent 2 days exploring the southern part and then explored the northern end on my way up to WA. Great home base. Only criticism is wishing they had a breakfast option but I think that is due to Covid. They did offer free coffee in the lobby and a limited supply of packaged baked goods and pastries for sell. The room was spacious and comfortable but I loved the balcony that faced the ocean.
Best Hotel on the Oregon Coast!
I have stayed at Fireside Motel twice in the last 20 years and keep coming back whenever in Oregon. Reliably, always modern, well maintained, super clean and comfortable. Perfect location just outside of the main drag through Yachats (walking distance to restaurants and shops if weather is nice). Love watching the surf crashing from the comfort of our beds, sitting chairs in room by the window or our patio. Benches out near the seaside are a wonderful place to sit and meditate and take in the beauty of the rugged coastline. Hot beverages in the lobby and complimentary movies are perfect for the cooler rainy days. Loyalist here- Fireside Motel will always be my go-to when on the coast.
We had such an amazing stay at fireside. Ocean front breathtaking view. We could watch seals in the water right from our room. Fireside sits right on the 804 trail. The room was extremely clean and exactly what we needed!
What a treasure on the Oregon Coast
We spent a week adventuring down the Oregon coast for a birthday celebration in April. Yachats was our final destination. We booked the Fireside Motel at the very last minute to extend our original itinerary by one extra day. We had an Oceanfront King Non Pet Room. The motel itself is very retro charming. They even gave us actual metal keys for our room upon check in. The front desk clerk was very friendly. Masks were required for indoor areas which we appreciated. They do have a movie check out feature as well. We drove right over to our room and there was plenty of out front parking available. We didn't have a pet, but they do allow them in some rooms. The grounds were very peaceful with large trees, birds chirping, frogs humming and the sound of waves crashing in the back round. Our oceanfront room was very clean and had a large comfortable bed. Lots of Heron photography on the walls. A table ,chairs, and nice sofa in front of the large picture window were perfectly placed for ocean viewing. The coffee station was a welcomed touch as well. The bathroom felt a bit outdated, but it's one of those funky Oregon Beach place vibes that we don't mind. If you're looking for more spa luxury check out their next door sister property the Overleaf. The absolutely best part of this room was the oceanfront patio on the ground floor. We had the most magical enchanting sunsets. The 804 trail is right in front and offers a breathtaking amazing stroll along the cliffside with crashing waves and dramatic viewpoints. It is well worth exploring and you have easy access from the Fireside rooms. The Fireside is also pretty close to the small town of Yachats which has a few cute restaurants, some shopping, and a beach for further adventuring. There's also nearby Cape Perpetua, the lighthouse, and other landmarks to visit. We'd stay here again anytime as it was one of our most favorite places of our entire week long beach trip. This is a special place offering the best combination of welcoming hospitality and natural beauty that Oregon has to offer.
Whales and coffee!!
This is an amazing property for the views, courteous staff and the whales. We stayed in room 30. It was upstairs, quiet with a balcony to have a great view. The table inside the large window also has a sweet view - and with the fireplace on!! Amazing. Room was spacious and clean. Both check in and check out smooth with helpful people. Great recommendations for food. Regret we only stayed one night - we will be back!
