Excellent place with large clean comfy rooms!
This motel is next to the water and we had a nice view overlooking the river. The rooms were large, clean, and very inviting...our room had a small balcony where one could sit and enjoy the view. The rooms had a small table with chairs and still had plenty of room to move around. the only problem with our room (#212) was a loud refrigerator which I had to unplug to stop the noise. The motel has plenty of parking...they allow pets ($10 in summer...$5 in winter). The morning breakfast is small. Location is extremely quiet.
A stay at the Edgewater Inn during the Christmas season
We made the trip up to Coos Bay two days after Christmas to visit family and see the sights. We Stayed at the Edgewater Inn like we have done several times before. The place has had a make over. New paint, new carpets, a freshen up of the outside and a fresh look in the rooms. The indoor pool area has been painted with the decks, pool and spa redone and looking great. for being on the coast the prices are very reasonable. I have read some false reviews on this place so I have decided to write another. There is internet. I was out and my wife was having a little trouble getting on and the front desk was very helpful to her and got her tablet on line. The front desk answered any questions we had and were always friendly. I watched a couple of butt heads try to pull some stuff that they new better and may write a bad review later. One tried to put his pet in a non pet room without telling the desk and was asked to move to a pet room, he refused. Yes they do have pet friendly rooms. you let them know that you are bringing one. Non pet rooms are clearly marked on the doors at eye level. The mans wife could be heard telling him that she told him to check their dog in. He was screaming no, that he would tell people how bad the place was. We stayed three day and enjoyed every minute of it. A great time meeting people in the pool area. Comfortable nights, bathrooms with blow dryer were very nice. Small refrigerator in the room. I have stayed in several brand name so called high quality hotels (Red Lion, Radison to name a couple) on the coast that there air conditioners were set not to cool below certain temperatures. On those occasions of hot humid nights this just does not work. I have never had this problem here. Rooms, you can get the spa rooms upstairs, cheaper rooms facing the parking lot, or as we did facing the port. Our room after taxes was $95 a night, which I thought was a pretty good deal for the Inn, location, ease of getting in and out, the options in dining close by. The Mill down the highway and other places are $150 on a weekday. Everyone that I talked to was having a great time, except the butt head.
Nice quiet hotel
The Edgewater Inn is tucked behind the Fred Meyer at the edge of Coos Bay. It is quiet and off the highway. The rooms are large with comfortable simple decor. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is great for a one night stay.
A nice stay
Stayed here with a group recently while checking out Shore Acres and a show at the Sawdust Theater over a long weekend. Cost is less here and while it isn't all that fancy it is clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was pretty simple with doughnuts, bagels, and other quick items. For the price it is a good value.
Second time shame on me
Second time here in a year. Same crass clerk at the front desk very dismissive on issues with the rooms. Once again, no internet in the rooms. She says "have to come to the lobby heh". I have told others with different schools not to bother staying here. FYI T-Mobile has no towers in Coos Bay so this in room internet issue is a huge problem!
