Located off of I-5 and only 10 minutes from Downtown Salem and Corban University.
Willamette University and sights like the Oregon State Capitol, Riverfront Park, and Gilbert House Children's Museum are within 3 miles. Willamette Town Center is a half mile away.

I try to stick to Hilton properties because of the consistent quality and value. Salem has four Hilton options. All are good, but my first choice is always the Doubletree. One standout there is Danielle, who serves the breakfast. The quality and attention to detail far exceeds peers.
Hilton, this hotel is really damaging your brand. I have stayed in a lot of Doubletrees over the years, and they are all a standard level of nice. This isn’t it—not by a longshot. I won’t be back. Very seedy area. Old building, window shade in my room was broken and couldn’t close (nice view of the blinking neon cabaret sign, though). They charge for parking despite it feeling like a high risk area for theft or vandalism. The relatively new front desk person was very friendly and helpful, ended up booking me into the Home2suites since the Doubletree had no other rooms. (This is my first and last stay in the Salem home2suites as well, I’ll leave a review there. The Hampton Inn, right next-door, is great.)
Thankfully, I was able to book/ pay for this particular hotel with my Hilton points. The rack rate was $225 for the room I booked. The hotel was/ is being renovated. The hotel, unfortunately, is horrible if you want a good night’s sleep but convenient if you like strip clubs, overlooking a McDonalds drive thru, and incessant highway/ street noise. The rooms and interior spaces of the hotel are pretty nice. The hotel offers a free breakfast buffet if you are a gold+ Hilton status holder. There is a charming breakfast place across the street, Sassy Onion, which is pretty darn good.
Beyond horrible. I booked a room with snacks, which is a premium to a normal room. Arrived at 8pm, nowhere to park and they tow you if you park at the strip club next door. Got to my room, it was not cleaned - absolutely trashed - from the night before. Went back to front desk, they said no rooms available. Ran around for a while - then came back and gave me a normal room, told me they would “honor” my original rate even though they gave me an inferior room. I asked how this could possibly make sense. They said the computer makes the rates, not them. Talk to the manager in the morning, nothing they can do about it. By the way, second room was filthy. Super bright and noisy from the highway. Worst, the absolute worst, hotel experience in my life.
This is an older hotel that has been renovated. The room was spacious and modern. The staff was friendly and helpful. A+ There is still some renovation going on (scaffolding went up at 9am adjacent to my room). By the time you read this review, it's probably done so I wouldn't worry about it. Breakfast and parking are $10 each, which many Hilton family hotels do not charge. There is a men's club adjacent. Despite that, I did not see any nefarious characters, homeless, or anything out of ordinary at all. I slept like a baby. So bottom line, this hotel is perfectly fine, especially if you can get a reduced rate. Don't be off put by older reviews.
