Me and my four children stayed here three years in a row for the Tygh Valley Bluegrass Festival. The rooms were very clean and comfortable; the owner was unfailingly polite and helpful with whatever we needed. We loved our stay each year.

Great Motel
I've been coming to the Deschutes Motel for fly fishing on the Deschutes River for over five years from spring through fall. The rooms are very accommodating and always clean and tidy. The management is always helpful, extremely friendly, and responsive to my requests. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone visiting the area. I always look forward to coming back. Joe Johnson

Highly Recommened! Highly Affordable!
Great location with a beautiful view, very close to the river and restaurants! The staff is so kind and welcoming! Our bedsheets and towels were replaced nicely in a timely fashion! The most affordable place in town by far!!

We have stayed here several times before and have always enjoyed our stay. They have air conditioning that works great, especially when it gets hot. And being in a desert it does get hot in the summer. Nice microwave & refrigerator combos near the sink area. Plenty of towels! Box of Kleenex would be a great addition though! Flat screen t.v. with satellite and wi-if that is actually HIGH SPEED and works great! Small table and chairs in the room for dining if desired. Short drive to down town Maupin for activities. River rafting and fishing excursions. Local drinking and dining experiences. Now the down side of the wonderful place. There are NO in room phones connecting you to a live body in the office. There is NO room service, NO wake-up service. In fact even though you can arrange to check-in late (the room is left unlocked and a light left on inside) THE OFFICES CLOSES AT 8:00 PM! If you need “anything” from the office you will just have to WAIT UNTIL 3:00 PM the next day! The local Maupin Market which is an excellent small town grocery store and deli also closes promptly at 8:00 PM. There is a pop machine outside of the motel office, but no ice machine. So be advised and l hope that you enjoy your stay! We usually do.

What a great motel!
Wanting to get away from an overcrowded and too cool Portland, my bf and I often find ourselves driving over the mountain to sweet little Maupin. Such a great town with really wonderful people and as scenic as you can stand! I booked us for one night at The Deschutes Motel and we really loved it. We had such a great stay and we felt so at home that we extended our stay by a night. Dave was simply one of the nicest most engaging people we've encountered in our travels, and we travel plenty! The rooms were super clean and I mean CLEAN. The bed was pretty comfy and the water pressure in the shower was excellent! They provide coffee and a few toiletries in the room. And not only are they pet friendly, they're pet accommodating! There's a little area for them to do their business and they even provide you with a little kit for the room complete with poo bags, a towel and a sheet if you allow your pet on the furniture. Another feature we found really convenient is you could buy snacks, beer and wine in the office for next to nothing. Perfect after a drive and you wanna crack a beer or two and relax in the room. All in all we loved our stay and this is absolutely going to be our go-to in Maupin. Thanks Dave! You're Awesome!
