Disappointing
The location Is great. You can’t beat it. That was about the only positive from the trip. The condo came with a "starter" amount of items. I walked into find a very small roll of toilet paper. There was enough for about two people to use the toilet paper. Then we had to go to the store. Garbage sacks--There was one in each garbage. That was it. Again, we had to run to the store just to get garbage sacks. We also quickly noticed that the heater didn't work. We called and Asked if someone could come take a look at it. My wife said someone came up to look at it, but it never got fixed over the three nights we were there. I totally understand that it doesn't snow in Lincoln city, but heat is kind of necessary when it's December at the Oregon coast. The Internet also was out. That meant we couldn't watch TV either. Again, a call was made to maintenance, but it never did get fixed. Nobody even came up to look at it. The pool area was clean. We appreciated that. But the pool was freezing. Aside from my three teenage kids, nobody got into the pool. The last night we were there, we had nothing better to do (the tv and internet were still out), so I sat by the pool with my kids for about three hours. Twenty seven people came by to use the pool and hot tub. After the first couple of people complained, I started keeping track. All of the old people complained that the bubbles didn't work in the hot tub. I really didn't care about the bubbles, but I did think it was interesting that the bubble knob was missing for the first two days of our trip, but on the last day the knob was placed back where it should, but it didn't work. And the pool was freezing! I think it may have been the coldest pool that I've ever been in that wasn't completely broken. Of those 27 people, they all dipped their toes into the pool and then quickly scurried away, many of them leaving frustrated and disappointed. I mentioned this to the worker when she came in at about 930. She seemed very surprised, but when she put her hand in the pool, she agreed that it was very cold. The next day I went down to the pool before we checked out. The pool temperature had not changed. I'm not a hotel snob. I'm a simple man who likes to bring his kids to the coast, and stay at the D Sands, because it's very family friendly, and we've been doing it for over three decades. We'd love to see the D sands get back up to what it needs to be but it's on the owners and Maintenance to make it happen

Crappy Management
Booked a 2 week trip and traveled 2 days to get here. 45 minutes before check in we were informed we couldn't stay that something was wrong with the room. Nothing was done to accommodate us or help us find another place to stay. Was offered a refund which can take who knows how many business days before we see it. We work really hard for our money and saved up for this family trip only to be stuck over 1850 miles from home with nowhere to stay. Not only that they have sister locations but pretty much just said that's all they can do. Pretty upsetting when we've spent thousands staying at their locations for years!!!

Seriously dissatisfied
We stayed at the D Sands for three nights. Each day and night there was a family with children above us. The children would tun, jump, and make an extreme amount of noise. Our room would just shake. I brought it up to management and they said they couldn't do anything about it until quiet time at 10:00 pm. The noise would continue until after 11 pm. They did nothing about the noise or talk to the parents. They gave me a number to call about after quiet hours complaints. The number was for the Lincoln City Police. They refused to do anything about noisy children, only for parties or that type of disruption. Needless to say the noise continued all three days. So much for any relaxation on our part. Management refused to take any responsibility for contacting the parents and do anything about the noise. I will never stay there again. If you are looking for rest and relaxation this is not the place to stay.

Loved it! Everything you want right there, including the ocean.
The ocean is right there! No better view anywhere. The rooms were sparkling clean and super comfortable. All the amenities you need right there. Loved it.

OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME
We have stayed at D'Sands for as long as I can remember and have seen it go through many changes over the years. The Office staff was very friendly and accommodating to our request for more pillows. I appreciate you walking them to our room, Thank You. This trip we stayed in studio 120 "Abercrombie & Fish" for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised to find the furniture had been updated since the website photo had been taken. We found a very comfortable leather double recliner had been installed. Also, an end table with electrical outlets on the front of it for charging whatever we needed. This made evenings in the room very comfortable next to the fireplace listening to the waves. Another nice touch was the pool towels we found stored on the shelf in the closet. We had no need for them, but definitely a nice touch. The Walk-in shower was very convenient, as I am just a couple months post op from double knee replacements. This was a great addition compared to some of the other rooms we've stayed in at D'Sands. However, the shower head was placed very high on the wall making it impossible for some of us lower in stature folks to adjust it. Another nice touch was the provided fan stored in the closet this was much appreciated. We will definitely choose this unit again for our future visits. Thank you to the owners of this unit for a nice home away from home. Just a couple suggestions that would make "Abercrombie & Fish" an even better place to stay. 1. Install an adjustable shower head that moves up and down on the wall. 2. Add a couple small shelves above the light switch. Counter space in the bathroom is limited. 3. Get bigger coffee mugs for the kitchen. The cups provided were appreciated but only held about three drinks of coffee.
