The cabin is actually a very old neglected park model trailer. We had a broken toilet seat, very high step onto the deck, tree branches overhanging into parking area, hot water in shower lasted a couch of minutes then it went cold, poorly stocked kitchen, and multiple neglected maintenance issues. We paid nearly $1200 for four nights, terribly over priced for the condition of the unit. The settling is beautiful. It's too bad they don't take better care of the cabin.
I hesitate to write a great review, since I fear if the secret is out I’ll have trouble getting reservations in the future! But I have to share this beautiful spot with others. The Metolius River and the spectacular Ponderosa pines at Camp Sherman are magical. And to have the sounds, sights and smells all around you while staying at the comfortable cabins at Cold Springs Resort makes for a great getaway. The riverfront cabin was small but cozy and clean and charming. The covered deck was spacious. The grounds were beautiful with wooden benches tucked at the rivers edge for a special treat. And dog friendly! Great for those of us who love hiking in the area with our furry friends. The manager, Chris, was so helpful in all ways… especially as we rebooked for next year, making sure we’d have another great vacation with friends in neighboring cabins. I hope to return before then to enjoy this beautiful place in the winter, too.
It was a beautiful location in a quiet area by the river. We saw a lot of wildlife and access to trails are numerous. Our dogs loved it and the gates on the deck to keep them close was perfect. The cabin was the size I expected and the amount of storage was phenomenal. Huge cabinets in the kitchen, but almost all of them were empty. The few utensils and amenities in the cabin were subpar considering the remote location. Trying to cook a meal was challenging due to the lack of utensils and pans... and I loath plastic glasses. No blender, no sharp knives, no games, no ice (broken icemaker), no water bowl for the dogs. There was a firepit, but no chairs. We were told the bikes were free to use, however we never had access to them. The WI-Fi was laughable, I paid $40 for a "premium" weekend package and it locked me out of the entire network, including the free access, in 2 hours. I couldn't even search for tech support. The worst thing was the pillows, whatever that stuff is, it should not be called a pillow, maybe a car seat or dog bed???? Will look for another place next time we visit.
The locale is wonderful! The cabin is the size of a tiny house with a back porch overlooking the water. The biggest problem is there is no Wi-Fi. They have a service available but it is $10/day per device, very pricey. If you don’t mind a disconnect from the world, this is the place!
We had a lovely stay at Cold Springs Resort. We stayed in the River View cabin for one week. It was beautifully furnished. We were able to make our own meals in the full kitchen.The outdoor sitting area looked out to the Metolius River. What a beautiful sight! Chris in the office gave us tips on where to go and see in the local area. There are many hiking trails nearby. Our dog enjoyed her time at the resort too. Looking forward to going back soon.
