Great Town, Disappointing Motel Experience
We traveled six and a half hours to this specific motel in Lakeview, Oregon, primarily because their website explicitly advertised an "indoor heated pool & whirlpool" and being "the only swimming pool in town." We paid a premium for this motel over others in the area specifically to ensure our boys could swim. Upon arrival, we were told the pool has been out of service for over a year due to water conditions and maintenance costs. Our children were deeply disappointed, and to make matters worse, the 43" flat-screen TV in our room was also non-functional. That said, the location of the motel is excellent and very easily accessible from outside of town. While the motel failed to meet the expectations set by their own website, the local community in Lakeview truly saved our trip. We were so touched by the kindness of a Safeway clerk who graciously provided us with extra utensils so we wouldn't have to buy a full box, and the staff at ACE Hardware were super helpful, giving us fantastic local recommendations for our rock-hounding gear. We also had a wonderful experience at Burger Queen on our way out of town, where the staff made us feel right at home. We loved the town of Lakeview, but would caution others to look for alternative accommodations if you are booking based on the amenities listed on this motel's website.

Lots of recent updating
Very small town; motel on main road; older buildings that have been extensively updated. Motel not hotel, parked directly in front of room door. King room quite tight; sink outside of of tub & toilet; large counter for sink; fan in shower room. very comfortable upholstered chair by window; decent lighting especially updated lighting around mirror and sink. Uniquely bed was memory foam and comfortable. Keurig coffee maker; soft close toilet seat Nice breakfast spread, clean nicely laid out with tables well laid out yogurt particularly good. Pool and Jacuzzi permanently closed

Pool PERMANENTLY closed, no real food options
NOT as advertised. Customer service super friendly. Once you arrive you find out that the pool is PERMANENTLY closed. This is not noted on the website, noted as you check in We were still going to stay but could find nothing in town for dinner. If you are looking for a place to sleep, okay. Anything else, you've been warned

Exceptional room, spotless and inviting. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely stay here again!
Our stay at this particular Best Western was exceptional. The room was spotless! The bed was comfortable, the shower was great....lots of water pressure. The breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and English muffin. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. There were many many more breakfast choices. As in most motels, the bathroom counter top was very low....I would guess less than 3 feet. My 6' husband with a bad back had a difficult time using the sink.

Cannot recommend this location.
When you are off the interstate with a 100 miles between small communities there are not many choices, especially if you have not planned ahead. The image is flattering as when we arrived didn't believe it was a Best Western. The biggest disappointment was the disaster of a breakfast. The meat serving of ham were actually black and dried end pieces that appeared they had been rewarmed for a week. The apples were actually wrinkled and old. Needless to say we skipped breakfast, one of the main reasons we chose this Best Western.
