Beware of your deposit fees
Staff were not friendly or helpful at all, took 3 tries to take my $250 deposit. Was told they never got it but it definitely came out of my bank account. At check out was told they never got it and it was my problem to deal with and to call my bank.

Stay at the Best Western Plus Prairie Inn
All the staff are the best, from front desk, kitchen to house keeping. Would recommend you stay there any time you are in Albany Oregon. You can even go fishing and CATCH fish 5 minutes away.

Not As I Had Hoped
I have stayed at the Best Western Prairie Inn several times over the last couple of years because I like the location and breakfast, but my last two stays have left me disappointed. There are still good things about this hotel. The lobby is clean, breakfast is hot and good, and I like that they post the breakfast schedule for the week. One thing I really appreciate about the breakfast is that they have oatmeal cups available. Since I travel down for special medical appointments where I could not always eat beforehand, it was helpful that I could take a cup of oatmeal and some breakfast items back to my room and keep them in the refrigerator for later. That made the stay easier for me. They also offer cookies or muffins in the evening, and the newer coffee machine with espresso, lattes, and regular coffee is a nice bonus. The indoor pool and gym also look clean and inviting, although I did not use them. Unfortunately, my room did not feel as clean or well maintained as it should have for the price. I found what looked like a balloon or similar item behind a worn-out end table, dust on the end table shelf, fraying on the bed frame, crumbs or salt in the cracks of the desk, and a coffee cup in the far corner by the window. The bed was saggy and very creaky. I brought some of these issues to the front desk, but the item behind the end table remained for all five nights, and I ended up doing some of my own dusting and cleaning. Noise can also be an issue. The walls seem thin, doors slam loudly, and I could hear showers and blow dryers while walking down the hall. Light sleepers may want to keep that in mind. I also had a frustrating front desk experience when trying to add two nights to my stay. My daughter wanted to pay for one night as a birthday/Mother’s Day gift, and I wanted to pay for the other added night myself. My daughter sent an authorization form and her ID/card with my granddaughter. I understood that one reservation could not be split between two cards, but I was asking about separate reservations. Instead, the full amount, including my original reservation, was charged to my daughter’s card without permission. That was alarming, and I had to ask for the charge to be removed. During the conversation, the employee clapped her hands at me while repeating that she could not use two cards. I stayed calm, but the clapping felt rude and condescending. The situation was eventually corrected, but it added unnecessary stress. I also noticed the Friday night rate went from $170 to $228 within a short time, and I was told it was because it was a busy weekend. I understand rates can change, but with the room condition, it was hard to feel good about paying that much. There were a few smaller issues too. The in-room coffee packets had sugar but no stirrers, so there was no way to stir the coffee unless you already had something with you. For guests with mobility issues, the toilets are very low, and the grab bar near the tub was not easy for me to reach. Handicap parking can also be tricky because the spaces are between pillars and near the lobby doors, where people sometimes block them while checking in. Overall, I appreciate the breakfast, clean lobby, evening treats, pool, gym, and upgraded coffee machine. But the room condition, cleanliness issues, saggy bed, noise, payment confusion, front desk interaction, and accessibility concerns made this stay disappointing. I plan to try again at the beginning of July when I return for appointments, and I hope things are better.
