Stayed for 1 night on our trip up the coast. Checkin was fast and friendly. We were told multiple times the elevator was out of service which was no problem. We had a choice if 2nd or 3rd floor room and took the 3rd. Gorgeous views of the beach but sadly it was super foggy so we didn’t get to enjoy the views at all. Very large room, very clean and had everything we needed. I would agree that the furniture is getting worn. Balcony was smaller than we hoped but overall it was more than acceptable. They also supplied great quality shampoo and soap. We walked a little and agree there isn’t much in this town to see. Breakfast was more than adequate and they did have coffee, tea and hot chocolate available in the lobby. We didn’t try the heated pool. This is a solid choice for a short stay.
Bad and Smelly
I usually wait a couple of days to write something. Not this time. Checked in with my group asked for something close to the lobby and was told they’re all booked. So I head to my room which is on the third floor only to find that the elevator is not working. Now I have to take everything up not only 3 but 4 flight of stairs. Then I get to my room and open the door and get a good whiff of wet dog smell coming from the room. Don’t get me wrong I own a dog and keep her inside and the house doesn’t smell like this place. I wouldn’t stay here again if I had too.
Four Good Nights
Don't be deterred by the messiness of plywood and the "fix-it" projects going on outside because the rooms are VERY clean and the staff is lovely. Every room opens out onto the ocean, and the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep in a hurry. The place is very pet-friendly, and that led us to choose the hotel. Would definitely return here.
Hotel Interior high quality - town just ok
Thoughtful details went into hotel rooms - we appreciated this. The room was huge and well appointed. The town and the view left a little to be desired - maybe because I was comparing it to gorgeousl Pacific City OR views. Room was very nice.
Friendly Staff, nice breakfast, interior of room very nice
The outside of the hotel was in terrible shape: rotting wood visible everywhere, especially on the stairs. The newspaper dispensers were rusty and nasty looking. The trash bins were right next to the drink machines, and the spills had not been cleaned up. ( detergent and a stiff brush could get these areas clean). Birds were allowed to make mud nests under the eaves, and parking under them left guano all over the car. The elevator wasn't working so we had to haul all of our belongings in two trips up 3 flights of stairs! There was only one ice machine, and it was on the second floor of the middle building; so we had to go down 3 flights and up 2 in order to get ice! We are in our 80's, and this is not what we expected for $350/night!
