Super clean and nice.
Top notch little roadside motel. Soper clean. Exceeded my wife's OCD cleanliness threshold. Basic, but decent sized, well laid out, and quiet in the back where we were. We've tried a few places in the area in prior trips. Been disappointed. Not this time. Will stay here again.

It Met Our Needs
Azalea Lodge is exactly what you'd expect: a typical motor lodge of the golden era of road travel. That being said, it fit our needs while staying in Gold Beach. Yes, it's a little older but we'll kept. Yes, it is no-frills but again, that is typical of old motor lodges. It was clean and cozy. The bathroom appears to be recently refurbished and is a lot more modern. The furniture is definitely dated from the 1990s but still functional. The bed wasn't comfortable and could've used more and better pillows. Thank God for the in-room Keurig. The check-in process for us was not the best but once everything was figured out we were all good. Overall, this place was good. It has its charms.

Classic family road trip motel. Clean, and plenty of room in the family suite!
If you want a classic roadside motel experience, this place delivers. As others have stated too, this is not a fancy resort. But we are glad we stayed here. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend getting room 101 as it is a corner room with nice windows and a table nook. Also, we were traveling with tween kiddos, and room 101 has the option to open up into two adjoining rooms, for a total of three queen sized beds. This amount of space in Gold Beach for this price was unbelievable. The shower is hot and has strong water pressure, which not all places do - it was realllly nice after a long day on the road. The staff was welcoming and gave us the BEST dinner recommendation - Spinner's - which is right across the street! I'll review them separately but seriously - get food from there, it is epic. Ray's market, a grocery with all the basics your family might need, is walking distance as well. I felt like everyone at the Azalea was taking distancing precautions seriously, and that things were spotlessly clean. The Azalea is conveniently located to the Samuel Boardman scenic drive, too. This place is an old-fashioned classic family road trip motel. We were going for that vibe, and it fit the bill. So, if you are looking for a simple, clean, friendly, and well priced suite of two rooms (!!) for your family and want that old-school 1960's/70's happy road trip feeling, stay here.

Very Good Value in a Clean but older Motel
We wanted to stay in Gold Beach but waited till all the big and better known properties were booked. So we stayed at this older, but well reviewed property. It was small and old but clean. It also represented a good value in a resort area. The walls are thin and breakfast was very limited, but fresh coffee is available. Located a short driving distance from a public parking lot overlooking a very nice Oregon Beach - one of our favorites. The hotel staff provided us this useful tip. Don't try to walk to the beach from this hotel.

It's all about expectations
If your expectations is to spend about $120 for a 1960's clean room, you are good to stay here. Being it is named and marketed as a lodge, your soon to be disappointed. The rooms are clean, the help is adequate, the breakfast was Good Value English Muffins and Oatmeal ( I think that is the Walmart cheap brand), and coffee with no place to eat them, so just take it back to your room. Not what I had hoped, so not an option I would do again, but not terrible.
