Hidden gem
This is a clean, pleasant place just east of Astoria. It’s an older style 1970’s motor inn, 2 stories. (No elevator). Although not a fancy place, all the rooms sit on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River and Megler Bridge, with gorgeous views, particularly at sunset. The room was older style but well maintained. But be aware the rooms are NOT air conditioned, but a large box fan was provided and the sliding glass door provided plenty of ventilation during a recent heat wave. It cooled down pretty well. A laundry is available on site. It is pet friendly. There is a hot tub available on the back lawn, but no pool or gym. The staff was very friendly; one minor issue we had was addressed promptly. A basic breakfast was provided: cereal, waffles, toast/bagels/muffins, yogurt cups and hard boiled eggs. The area was quiet and the other visitors were friendly. Many gather on the back lawn to chat or watch the sunsets. We really liked the fact that it was just far enough out of town to be very quiet, but close enough to get to Astoria in 5 minutes. Don’t be fooled by a 2 star rating! This was a lovely motel and you didn’t have to break the bank to stay there. If you want to pay $300-400 a night, head to the chain hotels in town. We were here 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Adequate except for one staff member
Accommodations were adequate, most of staff were curteous Except for one Asst Manager, Brandon. His condescending attitude toward guest was disrespectful to paying customers that permeated through our entire group of 7.

Their beds are very uncomfortable
I give the motel five stars because it is outstanding. I’ve been going there for three years and stayed in different rooms. Everything is great except one thing their beds are very uncomfortable and they’re too squishy. I have complained to management there before and they seem to not want to do anything about it that’s the only thing I say they don’t care about people having a comfortable sleep when they stay in their motel other than that everything else is fantastic so I will suggest if you go to that motel you need to buy yourself an inflatable air bed if you want a comfortable nights sleep we stayed in there June of this year, 2023

Astoria Crest Motel
Great clean comfortable place to stay, friendly staff. 3 friends on a 3 day sturgeon trip. We booked the family suite, gave us 3 beds. Coffee was on at 5:30am, with breakfast shortly after. Angela was our go to girl, who had it all ready for us, because we had an early fishing start. She also was a Wikipedia on all things Astoria, very friendly and nice. We will be coming back next year.
