Overall positive; an older place with a lot of positives, mostly seclusion and away from highway/city noise. There were a few things that could be improved - eg. there was no heat in bedroom, so it was rather cold. TV setup was not very user friendly. But overall still positive and a nice change of pace from a multi-story hotel or resort.

Agate Beach has been our go to spot for a few years now. The view is stunning. The rooms/baby houses really/ are so charming but most of all the staff are amazing. Whenever we book they always put us in our favorite spot without question. We have since moved to New Mexico but have work and family here. If we are visiting PDX we always make sure we have a weekend at the Agate Beach Motel. We will always come here. We can drive anywhere else we want to be on the coast for the day.

Phenomenal Location
I'm hesitant to say how great this place was for fear of others flocking to it! I went on the recommendation of a friend, after seeing her beautiful pictures of a serene and completely deserted beach. Everything about Agate Beach Motel fits in with my kind of relaxing vacation. Gorgeous view from our room and even better out on the deck. The temperatures were perfect for keeping our sliding door open and having fresh air tumble through our room. Rooms are small but adequate and ours had full kitchen; but the room isn't what's featured here--it's the absolutely exquisite location. Walk down to the water. Two minute drive to the lighthouse. Close to anything you might need--groceries, natural foods, restaurants. Highly recommend Local Ocean. Crab cakes and pan fried oysters were so good, we went twice during our five night stay. Staff at Agate Beach Motel are great. The little fire pit at night is such a sweet touch. I will be back, again and again. Rare find. Ssss-hhhhh.

Fantastic place for a VACAY!!
We booked this motel for one night on our way down the Oregon Coast ~ but we wish we had planned to stay longer!! The staff, the accommodations, and the VIEW are wonderful! We highly recommend this place for couples or a family getaway!

Rainy weekend with incredible views
We stayed two nights at the end of October. The first night was cool but we went out to the evening fire pit and relaxed with a cocktail and listened to the crashing waves. Then it started raining for the rest of our stay. Luckily our room had a great view and a great little kitchen so we enjoyed coffee and watched the waves roll in. We did get down to the beach during a break in the rain. Lots to do nearby and we’d definitely go back again!
