TripAdvisor Ratings & Reviews
We have stayed at many KOAs over the years, but none were as horrible as this one. Dusty, dirty, noisy spot with nothing but gravel, no grass and zero personality. Quiet time is NOT adhered to at all. There was a group hooting and hollering until after midnight (quiet time is 10pm) with no "security" in sight to tell them to stop. Then an ATV very loudly drove by the tents at a few strokes after midnight. Add that to the fact the highway is right there beside you so good luck sleeping well. We had no interest in staying for the 2nd night of our reservation and first thing in the morning went to tell the front desk that due to the awful night we had, we didn't want to stay and instead wanted our money back for that upcoming night. "Angelina", the manager (if you can call her that, she had no customer service ability whatsoever) couldn't have been ruder as she quoted "company policy" over and over again that 2 weeks' notice was needed to cancel or get out of any reservation. When asked what could be done in the case of a poor experience, she in a nutshell said "sucks to be you". Her demeanor was appalling and if I were her boss, I'd really second guess giving her the role as "manager". Do not recommend this place one bit. Most KOAs are wonderful, this one most definitely is not. 1,000 thumbs down.
Friendly staff...exactly as described.
Friendly staff and excellent Axe throwing coach. Rv'ers were very respectable of quiet times. Will stay again when coming cross country. Were a little worried when reading reviews but pleasantly surprised during our stay. KOA Loyals
They were fairly close to the dunes, only 6 campers when we were there and they put us all next to each other, it would have been nice to spread them out a bit thru out the camp ground, at least one or two camp sites between us. There was no employees or security guards after 5PM, so people could ride in camp all night. Only one person on the weekend so you could not get propane. Good site for large RV to get in and out of, maybe not when full. Over all it's just Ok, if your not an off roader you may not want to stop over night.
A nice place if ou like dust, noise and no access to the dunes
We had a great experience in a KOA in CA, so we thought this one would be fine as well. We got there and they were overbooked and put us in the overflow lot (a blessing in disguise eventually (where we had no wifi and had to walk 10 minutes ot the shower. Then the reality set in - ATVs and dune buggies from 0600 to 2200 -- noise and dust. Mad Max and Thunderdome comes to mind. Anyway, if you like that stuff, this place is for you. For me and my family we were definitely out of place and glad to be in the overflow lot (where it was quieter and away from the mass of ATVs), which we left at 6 am the next day! Not recommended for those who want a peacefiul/restful stay on the Oregon coast ...
Hard to Judge
We were off season, midweek and the only ones there. Generally everything was fine. Good service at checkin. All open, gravel sites. Hookups good. Rain made things pretty messy but not sloppy. Many cabins around. Good pet area and places to walk. Probably fills up when dunes and atv season in in swing. Little high priced off season. Modest store.
